Its

Procrastination Racing

by their calcs you would be at 156.8mph assuming your at 6200rpm in 4th which is 1-1 with 3.07 gears and 26.1 inch diameter pilots. I know for a fact that my speedo is off a few mph even with reprogramming and 3.55 gears.

Great graphs everyone, but how come everyone talks like the viper is unsafe at high speeds? Can we remedy this with an alignment. The Vette guys have been pestering me about this. They say the Viper is a bucket of bolts and is not a high speed sports car.

The vette guys are insane with jealousy...try a little less throttle and let them hang with you for a while...don't just fly by them, sucking that cheap GM paint off...toy with them a bit...make them feel good...

The vette guys, 2 black late Z06s, did show up to Laguna Seca last weekend -- it was pretty amusing, kinda like how the porsche guys are sometimes. These Z06s lined up at the front of the fastest group, all pumped up and ready to show the world how fast they were. I was maybe 4-5 cars behind them.

Ever reel-in someone on the track then watch their driving change when the realize how quickly the stripes are closing? There is sort of a wake-up and take notice thing that happens.

I could litterally see when these guys saw me in their rear-view, the mistakes start. One guy just gave up, the other guy held off for a couple more turns before the point-by. I was around them by the 2nd lap of the session.

Not taking anything away from the Z06, its a good car, and one of the fastest drivers I know drives one. But sometimes their drivers leave a lot to be desired.

A bucket of bolts? Hardly. But the front end does get light, nothing a front splitter can't fix. As far as top end speed goes, there's a lot of surface area in front of a Viper. When it was designed, the intention was not to break a land speed record.

The Viper Club faq on gears seems to have used a different ratio for second gear than others and is showing lower 2nd gear speeds. Second gear is 1.78:1, I think, and would give a theoretical 86 mph with the 3.07 rear rather than the 76 mph shown.
