If it makes you feel any better, Dale, this track looks like it hasn't been maintained since 1969.

Well if Dale is going to bring that example of Viper perfection to Carlsbad, then ****, I would too. Unfortunately, I will be out of town.

Solo II,

I spent some time on SDAD website last night, looks like a real hoot! I don't know what class I could run in but I think I would be an ASP (how coincidental!). I would like to know more about it. Sept. 8 is a day off for me and Sharon.

Sheyster,

So far Ulysses and myself are confirmed going. Destination is up
for discussion. 2charmed said he knew a great place in Alpine but havent heard from him. Barona Casino has a great breakfast buffet and its a great drive thru Ramona and over Wildcat Cyn.
Rd. I think Dale lives in Ramona, maybe he would want to join us?
Anyone else?

Im in Pacific Beach. Let me know when anyone wants to get together to cruise around. Right now I have the car in storage here in SD, but I can always take it out for a cruise. On Tues the 27th, my Snake will be in the body shop for about 3-5 days. Then I will be ready to cruise...race, or whatever. You can e-mail me at [email protected].

As far as the body shop goes.....I had a mishap when my friends daughter rode her bicycle into my Snake.....will be fixed soon though.

I just got my Kumho Ecsta race tires today, so far so good for being ready to rumble at the Sept. 8th event. Now I just need to find wheels, and get it aligned, and aligning is quick and easy.

Hey Dale,

What alignment specs have you come up with?

I was thinking: F 1.5-2.0 degrees neg (0 toe)
R 1.5 degrees neg (3/16" to 1/4" total toe in)

The event went really well, nice course, nice weather, huge turnout (over 300). The 3 regular Vipers where there, Dale, Dave and Clark, and of course the new comer in the yellow GTS

The GTS was amazingly easy to drive, it didn't put a foot wrong all day. When driven in to a corner to hard it pushed, but that was it. The back end never stepped out of line, even in off camber corners with the throttle mashed through the floor boards. It puts power down better than a stock Miata, and of course it pulled like a bat out of hell. The ABS was a total success, it broke hard and straight, and I was able to trail brake like a Corvette(non ABS Vipers cannot do this).

As far as how I did as a driver. I ran in PAX using the SS index. My first run, and only clean run, was only 3 tenths from winning. My next two would have won by quite a bit.

My class times:

79.1
78.0 +2
78.2 +2

X runs, all with a passenger:
78.2
77.5
77.6 +1

Here are the specs that I came up with:

F: 1.1 negative camber
6.8 degress positive caster
0 toe
42 psi (will go higher at next event, not much)

R: 1.5 neg
3/16" total toe in(can easily go with stock 1/8")
28 psi (might go lower, but not much, wore perfectly)

This is with just over half a tank and the spare tire in the car, I always run my cars as I drive them.

Can't wait for the next event.
