Shortening 2001 Shifter?

I've got the Detert 3" on both my cars ('01 & '02), and highly recommend. It brings the shifter down from stock by about 1 3/4", and allows me to keep the stock shifter, which was important to me.

I just removed the broom handle and ball shifter and put a MGW shift knob directly on the factory isolator. Just right.

I did have the mid-size Detert on the 98 with a stock knob.

I cut my own down with a saws-all. about 1/2 inch off post and 1/2 inch off shifter. great length and low tech.

I got a shorter shift rod from PBJ and bought the MGW first strike shift knob. Looks awesome aand works GREAT. Very inexpensive compaired to aftermarket shifters. Pshh who needs a B&M or Hurst..not me :)
