Stereo installation Questions

For you stereo installation gurus;

1. How does one remove the door panels on a 98 GTS?

2. What type of crossovers if any are used on the stock door speakers? If present, where are they located?

3. Most high end separates come with rather large passive crossovers. Where are people installing these?

4. How does one remove the stock head unit?

5. For those that have run all new wiring, what path did you take to get to the hatch area?

For you stereo installation gurus;

1. How does one remove the door panels on a 98 GTS?
Lots of screws and I think only two christmas trees. Once all screws are removed lift up and out on the door trim.

2. What type of crossovers if any are used on the stock door speakers? If present, where are they located?
Factory tweeters have a resistor as the crossover.

3. Most high end separates come with rather large passive crossovers. Where are people installing these?
Mine is installed in the door trim. It rattled at first but just stick it on with some tape or RTV.

4. How does one remove the stock head unit?
Take off front panel, just pull carefully off the push clips. Remove a couple of screws and unplug harness.

5. For those that have run all new wiring, what path did you take to get to the hatch area?

Mine goes under the B-pillar trim and into the trunk.
