These caps came with my HRE 545 wheels..... where can I pick up some nice ones like I had??

Hmm. I had a set of the aluminum with red sneaky pete emblems stolen a couple years ago. It was while parked in front of the Henry Ford Museum. Go figure!

Nothing ****** me off more than this. I've gone through 3 sets of the hex-head, logo ones. Always stolen at the same place, my gym. I see teenage kids hanging around all the time, but can't watch uninterrupted. Once, I saw a lttle kid (6-7) out the window taking them off. I didn't have the heart to go after him, but I cussed him out through the window. He hurriedly put them back on and took off on his little scooter. Punk. Now I just use the cheapo plain chrome ones. If I'm going to buy nice Viper-logo valve stem caps for little kids, I'd rather it be for my own kids at least.

Doesn't someone now offer a set which requires a special tool for removal? Having them stolen is the primary reason I haven't spent the money to get them.

I've had this happen too on some nice SSR wheels I had on an old car.
My solution now is I dont use the engraved or custom caps, just use the chrome ones you can get at the local auto store for $1-2 bucks and not worry about it.

Use a wrench and tighten them just beyond finger tight. Unless your thieves carry a wrench in their pocket, they wont get them off.

If it will make you feel better they got mine too. Usually I keep them tight but left them loose to adjust tire pressure at the track. Speed and Truck has more. Remember
you still have the car they only have the caps.

Jason, thanks for the alternative. Along the same lines-- someone stole my garage door opener from my visor in Destin. Guess they wanted a souvenir. John

I don't place my garage door opener on my visor since I'm generally *******. Instead I place it in the mesh pocket on the front of the seat with the button facing forward so I can easily reach down and depress the button, yet the opener is very hidden from view - no problems to this date.

Perfect spot. I have a small opener that fits in the mess on the front of the seat. Kind of cool reaching down and opening the door that way. Makes me feel like I'm entering the bat cave each time I come home.

No, they wanted to get into your garage and home to steal anything and everything they can get their hands on. Your license plate is all they need to find out your address. I had my garage door opener stolen once, and I immediately changed the code on the door opening unit.
