ok, this is more of a rant than anything. i owned a 2002 z06 (405hp) then moved onto a 2003 viper. then a 2005 viper. then i dumped the 05 @ end of 06 to get a new 2008 red/white viper beast.
but no red & white (even though that was the color combo they showboated for MONTHS)
so whatever. i figure i'll just wait til 09 or whenever they decide to move on to the next generation & make another red/white color scheme to celebrate the final edition of said generation. almost broke down & bought a SSG or one of those mean a$$ looking blk w/red stripes, but i said nope, gonna get the color combo i want. straight from the factory. i'm gonna keep it & it'll be the last sports car i ever buy. w/me til i kick the bucket. hell, bury me in it!
on to the point...
so i decide i'll get another z06 in the meantime (hence the title). GM is practically GIVING them away. i got mine brand new for 65k OUT THE DOOR! i mean, geez! that's cheap! it's a leftover 07 model.
& yeah, it's a nice car & all, but doesn't compare to the viper.
i already knew that goin in. so i can't complain too much.
it's like dating some girl who's great & everybody loves her (except you b/c you've had btr)
she's not sexxxy enuff & just doesn't do it for you
b/c you used to date angelina jolie & now you're w/some goodie 2 shoes who's obsessed w/walt disney & oprah
that's the z06.
the goodie 2 shoed cousin of the viper.
but i figure i'll drive it around for 18 months or so til i can get my red/white special edition.
then i see on the news last night how dodge might be selling off the viper.
so i go out & my garage this morning & i'm completely disgusted by the z06.

mainly b/c this mainstream car will survive while the viper goes the way of the dodo.
or worse, gets bought by someone who ruins it...
the viper's such a manly beast of a car
the z06 is just a fast car
nowhere near as inspiring
& the z06 is BORING when driven slow.
like a camry!
the viper rocks @ any speed.
i need to build a ramp & jump this thing in the river.
report it stolen.
i feel like a traitor lives in my garage.
& i invited it in.
