What are the pros & cons of a twin screw SC that mounts on top of the engine vs. a paxton type SC that mounts in front of the engine? Which produces more power, heat, ease of installation and removal, etc.? :usa:

Gotta do a search on this one.Roe is the buck bang including looks.Lots easier to figure out what RW you want and match the price with the tuner/kit.Make sure you not gonna be ticked off when you spend 10g and a 2g nitrous kit user blows by you

Not to hijack your post Ed but I'm wondering how each one or type would work with nitrous. Is one or the other more compatible with nitrous or it doesn't matter?

both types have their advantages and disadvantages. the old addage may apply here. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go? Talking w/ the Kings would help
(Heffner, DLM, Roe) between the three of those guys, all have good reputations here, and are class acts from what I can gather on this board. My understanding is that the screw type make more low end power and torque along w/ more heat. while the centrifugal type make more horsepower(top end). I have the eaton/screw type on my miata. good luck

Correct, except the part about the heat. A twin screw makes less heat. A twin screw on one of our kits will max out at about 15,000 rpm, while a centrifugal will run about 45,000 to 50,000 RPM at the same engine RPM. That's why the centrifugals also have to be fed with engine oil running to and from the engine (from a pressure port and back to the oil pan though an added fitting in the pan) while a twin screw can run with 5 oz. of self contained engine oil.

Regards,
Sean

I stand(er, sit corrected). personally when i did the research for my miata system, i decided that the more simple(plug and play) the system was the more attracted I was to it. that decision made forget about a turbo system quickly. I don't fiddle w/ the mechanicles at all. i wanted something that got put on and that was it along w/ ease to return the car to stock. Sean's system is prob the closest you get to it w/ these cars. there are few people in the MCVO w/ his system on and they are gorgeous.

The paxton's boost doesn't kick in until around 3000-3500 rpm, but when is does, it's fun. I would say that the Roe is definetely easier to install than the paxton, but at the sametime I love the way my plenum looks from the factory and didn't want to take that off so I went with a polished paxton set up. I got an awesome deal on it too compared to what's out there.

Just so you know, no Paxton or Roe supercharged Viper has gone faster than a Heffner supercharged Viper.

That is all... :D
