Has anyone heard of this "Lock Down Kit" that the Dodge dealership is trying to sell me for $400. Dealer said the throttle body is coming loose because it's under engineered and needs this kit.

Sounds like BS to me!

What year? There was a TSB back in the day for the Gen 1 engines to install a screw in the throttle cable to lock the adjustment. The screw was like $2.00 in parts and very little labor.

Tom is RIGHT. I did this TSB (myself) on my 93. 2-self tap screws with washers (mopar kit),and cost a couple bucks. SCREW-the stealership!!!!!!!

Three minute fix!.....and works great.

Suggest that you read this thread AND the links contained within:

Remember the last post in the second thread listed above where "Matthew
Howell GTS 97" said:

"There is an important step you are missing. LOCK the cables from moving
after they are adjusted. you will need to add a screw to each cable adjuster as
per the TSB 181896.
Otherwise if you just adjust them without locking, the
next time you go to the floor with the gas pedal, you will have cables out of
sinc again."
