Track Day Insurance

When the IL club goes racing, do many (any?) of you purchase track day insurance? I understand that most insurance companies won't honor claims made due to racing, and that there are opportunities out there to purchase single day insurance made specifically for track racing. Does anyone have comments on this topic: do they purchase it? No? why not? etc.?

I'm interested in this too. I wonder if there were enough of us who did want to buy insurance for one of our events if we could get a group discount?

We use ontrackinsurance.com without any problems. Steve is a Viper owner.

Yes, even currently racing on a road course will leave you with no coverage of any kind with regard to your standard vehicle insurance. You'd have to purchase track insurance. Several folks are able to help with that, when you register, let us know and we can help you. I'll tell you however it's cost prohibitive, I don't know one member who uses it outside of those who do wheel to wheel racing. But we do have resources to help if you'd like to learn more.
