transmission fluid sources

I guess I'm in Sticksville, NY; I had trouble finding local dealers for the transmission fluid I wanted. Here are the findings:

1) local Dodge dealer Chrysler # 4874459 $21/quart

2) local GM dealer GM # 12346190 $19/quart

3) www.standardtransmission.com (Fort Worth, TX) Castrol Syntorq LT 75W85 $54/gal

Thats not a problem, at least you can get syntorq, Castrol UK tech dept had never even heard of it, -- anyone know of a European equivalent.

Have seen it at some Indy dealers for $29.00 per qt...best deal that I got was 12 qts. from JonB at partsRack at $19.00 per qt......plus shipping.

PartsRack will ship CORRECT rear-end refill kit, complete w/ the proper anti-slip additive, for $45 including shipping!

URGENT NOTE: TOM........ I have had ONE customer (only) report noise problems due to using the "SUPPOSEDLY" same GM equivalent! He did later post a warninbg of sorts here...... He then purchased the above kit from me and "fixed" the noise complaint.. I dunno why... YOU are the lube n oil geek ?!

Hey Tom,

Try some Amsoil. Looks like around $10/qt for the tranny and $13 /qt for the rear end(comes with the friction modifiers in it). I'll bet it's easy to get even where you live. I'll have both in mine next season.
