Viper vs. F16 on Ripleys Believe it or not

Anyone see this on Ripleys Believe it or not? They start off the program with what appears to be an 02 FE and actually race an 03 Red SRT vs a F16 fighter jet. 1/4 from a stop....Viper easily wins but the race is for a 1/2 mi. They claim its a photo finish with the F-16 winning by .2 sec. Now get this. They say the time for the F-16 was 13.5 so the time must have been 13.7 for the SRT. Obviously they screwed up on the time. I have this on a VHS tape and the runway was marked off at the 1/4 mi and 1/2 mi so the distance was accurate but no way the viper ran a 13.7 in the 1/2 mi. The segment is about 5 min. on VHS tape and if someone can convert this to mpg, I would be happy to send it to you so you convert it and place it on this thread for others to see. Job well done by Ripleys.

That event in Phoenix was a blast. They raced a SRT-10 against the Fighter Jet, then raced a CompCoupe against another F16 using full afterburners. All races were close in the 1/2 mile course.
While the Vipers relied on their fantastic brakes to slow down, the fighters simply took off, and pulled straight up.
A trend is starting. Another drag race was against a Corvette, and Dec. 11th Michael Schumacher will pit his Ferrari Formula One against the new Eurofighter. They will run 500, 1000, adn 1500 meters.

it was pretty cool, didnt they say the srt ran like a 13.4 quarter mile!?! and the fighter jet ran a 13.3. did the guy racing the srt realize he had the parking break on?

I taped it and the F16 was declared the winner with a time of 13.5 and the viper was .2 sec slower, but again, this was a 1/2 mi race, so they fu@ked up the times.

In what appears to be a copy cat move, A Eurofighter Jet will race Michael Schumacher in a Ferrari F2003A on December 11th. They will race for 500 and 1500 meters at Grosseto Air Force Base in Italy.
