What are the "special" viper models?

I have been looking at vipers for sale for a few months and have noticed several different special models. I believe they are all just a different trim package? Correct me if I am wrong and add any others you may know

What I have seen are
"gold edition" red viper with special gold wheels

"fe" 02' model with interior dash plaque

"shelby edition" heard about it haven't seen it

anyone know more about these?

The most special of all is the Red 97 GTS with flat black stripes.

--97 only.....a handful sold
--360 Final Edition 02 usually FED
--Shelby edition was a CS licenced project by Fitzgerald Motors in MASS
96 white RT..also a tiny handful of 97 red GTS !

Also, can't forget the special raffle RT/10 ACR. Was that 2000??

Also, you can go to International Viper Registry for all of the Viper production numbers and models.

Another special model is the 1998 GTS-R. 100 made, basically a for runner to the ACR. Had very similar equipment plus a wing.

I saw one of these for sale, but it didn't have gold stripes so maybe it was a fake. Anything else different on those?

all the true gold edition cars that i have seen have a viper logo located behind the lettering on the side of the car. you can see it better in this pic.

The reason the gold edition is rare is because nobody wanted/ordered them. The gold wheels were a no cost option and wanted by few.

'96 White/Blue RT/10, only 324 (correct me if incorrect)

'97 GTS Red/Gold wheels, only 7 (correct me if incorrect)

'97 GTS Red/Yellow wheels, not too sure how many.

'98 GTS/R GT-2 White/Blue, only 100 built.

Any ACR '99-'02 without comfort package.

'02 Final Edition GTS Red/White, only 360, handful of ACRs, even less of the ACR without comfort package.

There's a guy with a '97 RT/10 Blue/White 3 hrs away from me. If somebody wants me to post the auto trader ad, let me know.
