Woah here, let's be helpful to this soon-to-be-new RT owner.
Rick, the RT/10 isn't a true "convertible" in that it doesn't have a fully retractible roof. It's really a targa top car. The car comes with a some-assembly-required soft targa top which can be stowed in the trunk when not in use. Most everyone who orders the car also gets it with a removable hardtop, which costs $2,500 and is worth it unless you're *never* going to be driving it with the roof on.
As far as obtaining a '01 RT/10, forget about your local dealer and call Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse Dodge: 800.889.1893. He sells over a hundred vipers a year, so unlike your local dealer, he's probably already got the car you want either (a) in stock or (b) arriving in the next couple weeks, and he'll give you a fair price to boot.
