What's your horsepower gain with just headers?

What\'s your horsepower gain with just headers?

Anyone added headers alone and either dynoed the difference or seen a consistent ET gain? What'd you see? Trying to determine the bottom line on header hp gain.

I have heard anywhere from 20-35rwhp from headers. Not a huge gain in HP for spending around $1600!

Well, I'm sure there's been a few reports over the years, but thought I'd pose a pointed question and get right down to it. A toughy to narrow down, because most people add at least a catback when they add headers.

This is true, but it gives you two more things other than HP

1. Looks

2. Opens up the car for other things like forced injection

On the Gen IIs it was not uncommon to see a 40-50hp gain with a set of Bellangers , Corsa catback, and Random Technology hi-flow cats. I got right at 50hp with my 2000 GTS, but the figures of 20-25 are more in line with the Gen IIIs as the stock header is just too damn good. Much better gains were seen with the GenIIs.

After watching dozens of Vipers on the dyno my conclusion is there is little to no benefits from headers. This is probably because every viper header design is crap that I have seen. I wish LG made Viper headers then we would see 40hp gains.
