While my engine\'s out...

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with manual steering racks or electric water pumps in their Viper.

Any other major work I should be considering before putting the motor back in?

On my '94 I used to change serpentine belts at the strip to omit the ps and ac. (I think it was both that were omitted) It's harder to do on a Gen II.


Most water pumps with electric motors are not recommended for the street. Though I think I've seen at least one inline pump that allow you to basically slice the hose and insert the elec pump.


How well water would circulate with the impeller still in the way (maybe blocking flow some) is another story.


How about flipping the engine over, pulling the pan, and fitting a nice tight oil scraper around the crank?

Ive got a manual steering rack on my mustang. The largest wheel Ive had on the front is a 17x9 w/ 245/40 tire... and it is a ***** to turn the wheel if the car wasnt moving. If going slow it is still pretty difficult. Once you get rolling over 15mph its not too bad and seemed like the steering is somewhat tighter compared to the factory rack... just my $.02
