I am buying an 01 GTS, and the previous owner had a seat lowering kit put in. Would it be too low for me? I'm 5'8". At first I thought being lower would be better, but will I have a bad time seeing over the hood?

How easy is it to remove the seat lowering kit and replace it with stock rails?

Anyone want a seat lowering kit?

Achilles99,
I am after a kit. I am 6 foot but have short legs and a long body.
There are 2 types. One drops the seat one inch and still allows lateral adjustment. The other drops the seat 2 inches but you loose the adjustment. Both kits should be 4 bolts connecting the kit to the floor and then another 4 to the lateral rails of the seat.
Let me know how much you want for the kit. You can email me directly.

If PJ does not want the kit I will take it. I am 6'2 and could use the extra room....sometimes I feel like a bear in the circus!!!

Thanks,

Chad :)

If you're 5'8" I guess taking the seating lowering may be more comfortable. I'm 6'2" with 34" length pants and definitely needed the extra head room with the 1" lowering kit which I installed. The only down side(no pun intended) is with the lowering kit, you get less support under your thighs since the front of the bottom seat cushion is lowered as well.

I wish they made the kit to just lower the back of the seat but leave the front where the stock seats are.

I have one and I can tell you that it is extremely easy to change (take on and off). I even have my stock seat rails if you want them in case the guy you are buying from doesn't have the OEM seat kit.

You ever coming back to atlanta?!?!

I heard that the stock seat rails are left in the car when the seat lowering kit is installed... but, from what you are saying JD, that doesn't seem to be true. As for coming back to Atlanta, maybe in the near future after I finish up the MBA!

What have most of you with 2" seat lowering kits experienced?

I have one person who is interested in the kit... if he doesn't want it, you are next in line ViperChad.

Casey - I'm 5'8", and the average Vietnamese male is 5'5" So, am I still vertically challenged ;) ?

Linh, the two inch kit removes the rail hardware and slide/stop, (I found it a pain to install, btw.), but if you have the one inch kit, you should still have the rails and mechanism in there...
Us giants couldn't drive the snake without the two inch drop! (6-5 here)
