As most anyone who has thought about doing diffuser blades on the rear on a Gen 2 knows if you try to move SRT blades to a Gen 2 it requires cutting 3 slices in your bumper per blade and a total of 5 holes per blade have to be placed as well. I personally did not want to put that much damage on the rear bumper so with the help of a local fabricator we have changed the design around and and came up with a level blade that requires no slicing and 1 hole per diffuser.
The blades that we came up with use a very similar profile to the SRT blades but they are leveled out and utilize the rear existing hole mount for your bumper cover. In the front of the blade there is 1 hole that needs to be drilled. For those looking for extra stability a piece of 8 inch flat stock or longer can be put inside the bumper cover for rigidity but it won't be a requirement.
In the end the installation requirements will be significantly less, they will be made from aluminum, 1 hole per diffuser blade so if you plan on putting your car back to stock you can put a paint matched rivet there and call it good, and a good look for your car. I will have photos up later and hopefully have a set mocked up on my car by tonight (pending weather).
The photo attached is a picture of an SRT blade mocked up on my car. Besides the slicing and extra holes another thing I did not like that the front side of the diffusor actually extended past the wheel well, leaving a spike sticking out. It wouldn't hurt anything but I did not like it.
As usual questions, comments, interest is always appreciated.
(Keep in mind the diffusor blade in the photo is the original SRT blade we mocked up for the purpose of redesign, the new ones will be a similar shape but will be tailor to the Gen 2)
