I want the vehicle to be level when i change the oil, tranny, rear diff, etc. I was looking at the race ramps that lift the car 10 inches. They also have the rear 10 inch blocks to match the front. I just think they look safer than jack stands. I would hate to be smashed from trying to save a few bucks. What do you guys think?

Stands are fine. Just place securely on the frame.:2tu: -it's not about saving bucks, it's about taking care of car that matters to you more than it does to some 'lube guy' at where ever.:nono:

Search on the ESCO stands. Very stable, very strong. The flat-top model is the way to go. Dr. Taco has some pics around here somewhere of his Viper on these stands...

Explaining Viper things to you
I do all my work with race ramps or jack stands. From just the ramps to car on 4 stands. Tranny removal, clutch, diff removal, brakes, exhaust, and so on. Car is very stable even on 4 stands. Of course if you shop at Harbor Freight for shop equipment then I would address that first LOL.
