There is an SRT All Access Baner on the 6speed forum and not on here??? *** They are really trying to get the gen5 car out there in front of the viper community....lmao. I find it funny that I register for this event on a random car forum and not the VCA. Is there even a point in joining the VCA anymore?

There is no valid business reason for it not to be advertised here. Fiat, Chrysler and SRT need to ********* any possible market for the Gen V. It is my hope, as a Fiat shareholder, that it was an oversight and not the acting out of emotion. Fiat, Chrysler and SRT are in business to manufacture and sell vehicles. Period.

There is a myth that Chrysler, the company, has lowered itself and taken sides. It has not. To do so would be extremely immature and indicate a lack of proper management. Based on a recent email from a current Board member to South Florida members, Chrysler is currently working with the new Board regarding a new raffle car.

A parent can treat all of his or her children equally even if all of the children do not get along with each other.

There are those who cannot distinguish the VCA from the past acts of a few people who passed through its leadership. I think that the management of Chrysler is sophisticated and mature enough to be able to recognize this point.

I don't understand why I haven't received an invite to SRT All Access.....they know I'm a SRT owner :dunno::dunno::dunno:

Does every SRT owner get an invite....how does that work? Maybe it's in today's mail, lol.

Once I saw it on one of the forums about 2 weeks ago I did call the number to register and received confirmation today that I'm in. Hopefully the weather will be dry for the December event.

Cheers,
George

Do not believe that this event is managed by SRT. More likely invites sent out by J. R. Thompson from their contact lists. No way of knowing who makes the cut, and who is not notified, but if you call their number they can set you up.

Communication for me has been via e-mail. Do not know if others have gotten in the regular mail.

They most likely have a target list. It may be sorted by zip codes plus your vehicle registration. Something like that.

Maybe all SRT vehicles, or just Viper registrations of certain years and models.

No matter, it is appreciated that they give many the opportunity to experience these new Vipers behind the wheel. I would believe this is a pretty expensive endeavor, and hope it results in a bunch of new orders.

I was invited to the palm beach event. I went and drove around palm beach a little with a red/ tan interior GTS. They had 7 GEN 5 's as wella 300 and challenger in SRT trim. They gave me some SRT branded bottled water and a fancy sales brochure as well as an SRT pen...whoa!Kidding aside, they were some nice and knowledgeable people there. Overall I enjoyed the event.

Some of those people are STILL in power here, and you are kidding yourself and others if you think any different.

And some of those people are in power in the new club and you are kidding YOURSELF if you think that they are not. The honeymoon effect will wear off. People are people.

Some chose to abandon the institution of the VCA and form a new club. Some chose to try to restore the VCA to the proud club it was before the recent problems.

There is a difference between the institution and those who pass through its leadership. If that were not true, when Carter was President a large number of people would have left the U.S. You could say the same now that Obama is President but very few are actually leaving. Most people are able to make the distinction. The VCA, as an institution, has a long and successful history. You may choose to ignore that as others obviously are. I choose to respect that.

.

Agreed. And that is why I have not joined the other club either. I have met a couple of local Viper owners, and have enjoyed their company and knowledge about these cars. I don't need a club to enjoy my car, and I will never give the VCA money until the Marshalls are completely gone from all things VCA or VPA anyways.
Heck, I don't plan on joining the other club without watching the way it's run for at least a year. Maybe more. So I'm not ignoring anything. Quite the opposite really.

Bob, you seem to have a habit of ignoring reality and facts. "Some of those people are in power in the new club…?" What does that mean? You mean the people that tried to correct the corruption and mistakes being made by this club for a long time, were marginalized and finally fired for their efforts? Give me a break, they did not abandon this club, they were forced out. You know all this, you just can't accept facts. Supporting the new board I can understand, but bashing the good people that left I cannot. I don't know why you insist in burying your head in the sand, but so be it. People are people, you will be you.

I just don't understand you, Bob. I hope the new board revives the VCA, it was a great club at one time. But please, don't protect this club with blinders on, then suggest those that were pushed out for trying to improve things here are somehow tainted.

I am afraid you are ignoring the facts. The people who left, or were improperly terminated by Lee, voted in favor of much of what was objected to when they were Board members.

Maurice was invited back to be National Vice President of the VCA once Lee resigned and Dan became the President. He chose not to do that as is his right.

VCA member lists, email addresses and other data were used by people who were still on the Board of Directors to solicit members for the new club. Perhaps you view that as proper. I do not. I view it as a breach of a Director's fiduciary duty to the VCA.

You too seem to confuse the acts of the leaders with the VCA itself. Saying that those Directors who left are immaculately conceived ignores the reality of what happened. If I have to choose between someone who chooses to weather the storm and save a worthwhile entity like the VCA and someone who not only chooses to abandon the enitity but also improperly uses data owned by that entity to further undermine it by soliciting its members to a new entity, I will feel more comfortable with the first group every time. It is just a variation of the old question: Who would you want to be in a bar fight with - the guy who stands by you and fights or the guy who sees the s*** going down and takes off?

I am an old school guy. That way of looking of things is fading in favor of a culture of convenience, entitlement, self interest and life style. Brave New World is coming true.

I believe they don't advertise here for good reason and it can be summed up in one word....."integrity".

I read a letter where Ralph was told not to keep butting his nose into the VCA's business. VCA has now another contact, higher up in Chrysler to use as their point of contact. Now I see pictures of Ralph butting his nose into the new club. Can't see this as ending up as anything but ugly for Ralph.

The VCA is still a great club. I see no value to throw out a successful 20 year old brand, just because a few individuals got caught up in their own self importance. Chrysler, SRT and Dodge also have these same type of people, and the way they handle it is not to close down the brand, but to get rid of the few inappropriate individuals.

In many of the regions that have "decided" to hook up with the new club, there are also a significant number of members that feel that VCA has been a great club over the years, and they want to stay with VCA. After the first of the year, when those people find out the new club is not "all that" they will want to remain VCA. This may get uncomfortable for everybody, with competing clubs, but just like the American Civil war that pitted Brother against Brother this will pit Club against Club, Member against Member.

Just as in the early days of Viper production, the addition of the Coupe to the RT/10 lineup caused great division in the ranks. Still today there rages a discussion about which Generation Viper is the truest essence of the breed. In truth they all share the Viper DNA. VCA was designed from the beginning to support all Viper Owners, and foster a strong alliance with the manufacturer for the benefit of all the faithful. Now that this seems to be breaking down, division is again raring it's ugly head. Total membership will most likely decline next year (even combining both clubs, as owners get discusted with the whole conflict thing. Manufacturer against club, Club against club, Member against Member. So many will say…to heck with the whole thing…I'm buying a Vette.

Yes I hate all this. I have especially been discusted by the people that are joining the new club, and then post with evident glee that the VCA is under attack. They continue to post negative things about the club, SRT, Club leadership, Chrysler involvement, individual loyal members…they just attack, attack, attack.

Everybody knows that Viper Sales are way down. This conflict will do little to help that matter. Even other forums such as Jalopnick are spreading the word that SRT and the Viper Nation are in serious distress.

A blind man can see how this will all turn out. Bad for VCA, Bad for SRT, Bad for Chrysler, Bad for Ralph, Bad for the whole Viper Community.

For this I am sad.

Again I ask the question, when will we know where these regions are? All of the current regions in the midwest are GONE or will be gone at the end of the year! I dont consider Kansas midwest. Pauls statement that mentions I quote here, "there are also a significant number of members that feel that VCA has been a great club over the years, and they want to stay with VCA." (end quote) How do you think their experience will be without a local club?

Why the mystery as to who this higher up in Chrysler is? Why no communication from the current board? All I read is stuff from BobPANTAX who seems to be the defacto voice of the board and Paul Hawker.

There are so many questions that have not been responded to its not funny. I again see threats coming from the VCA again in the first part of Paul's comment about we have have a higher person than Ralph and he was told to keep his nose out of club affairs.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this club is the old club...........uh yup that's pretty obvious. The new club is also comprised of the old club, ok so that's really new and different. For someone like myself who came here for the cars and stayed for the great people, this is all a bunch of childish non sense.

Sadly, I've seen plenty of threads, including the "PDF" from the VCA slamming the VOA, and many attempts to discredit it on the VCA forums.

I've only seen in thread on the VOA forums about the VCA, asking why the website was down.

I think the VCA needs to stop trashing Maurice and Co and focus on themselves.

The VCA should probably stop trashing Ralph (eg: this thread from) and trying to rebuild the relationship, instead of constantly trying to slander him.

I am not slamming anyone, and I have never said anything bad or negative about Ralph Giles or Maurice and Co. In fact, I support the formation of the other club. Why do you bring me into this ? i.e., you "calling out" the VCA which is me and every member?

I am the VCA. You were the VCA. Your comments stating "the VCA is doing such and such" includes all members. Perhaps you are talking about a specific minority portion of the VCA and if so, maybe you could not generalize and insult an entire group.
