Good stuff.
Me thinks Sam is about to administer a Viper Trivia beat down on the rest of us....who can dethrone him. :)

There are conflicting reports, some say that it was a 5 speed manual others 6 speed.

As an aside I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with a late model (April 94) Gen I Viper engine bolted to a Diesel automatic. It bolts directly to the motor and the only fabrication was to modify the inspection cover from a cast iron truck V10 to cover the void. Major frame mods and a Corvette steering rack were needed. I still plan to modify the steering to get more travel from it, another of the many projects I have under way! The vehicle was created by a former VCA member and featured in a couple magazine articles. I chased it down from ebay after the local Dodge dealer reneged on a hand shake deal and tried to get $10K over on a SRT10 Ram truck I had ordered. I liked the automatic and it works flawlessly controlled by a modified V10 truck ECU. I also have a V10 3500 4x4.

For the street car, as shown in the picture , 1 the same as in every other Viper , just has smooth intake tubes like the later ACR. If you are taking about the race car, there were 3 , a 525,650, and a 700 hp versions, the 525 was in house engineered, the 650 and 700 were made with the help of Caldwell Development Inc.

I have every Viper Mag from the first one, so if I look, one of them on the front cover is going to say Sam Goldfarb. If I have to page through each one, that's not going to happen. Anyway that's cool Sam that you were in the Magazine.

I forgot to look, but I don't think my name is on the cover.

Somewhere in 2004???

I don't have the magazine with me. In the article is a picture of Sam, a red Viper, and two red trucks.

Right! The vehicles in the picture are all 1997 and V-10 Powered. The 3500 4x4 is cast iron V10 and the 1500 is a Gen I Viper Engine/Auto Trans.

Wow Sam, what a huge honor.:)
Thanks! They used to do feature articles on members. They would call you and interview you and ask for a picture of you and your car. I suspect the people that make up the magazines are still glad to get articles, pics and input to help flesh out the magazines. In Ohio we used to submit articles several times every year and see them all eventually get published.
