Air conditioning my 1993 RT-10 Viper

Due to the *very* windy cockpit of such an open vehicle (and the puzzling placement of the factory dashboard vents in Gen1 RTs), it's hard to keep the cold air inside the vehicle. With the top attached, and the side-curtains locked-in, it is barely effective - at that point there's a lot of...

Need tips on selling my 96 rt10

On the hood thing - back in '96, they were busy re-tooling things to make the GTS... plus these cars were built by hand from the inside out, which was unconventional as well. Go to your viper and open the door, you'll probably see that they had to use shims to make everything line up. It's...

Need tips on selling my 96 rt10

So my auction on fleabay ended with zero bids. Lots of people trying to lowball me though.... like this guy - I saved the texts: (1 hour before auction end) Him: Hi I'm the guy that had been emailing you on your viper rt/10. Im from Arizona and I dont mind the gas gauge or the minor issue as...

Need tips on selling my 96 rt10

lol yeah you guys are right, I do need to take care of those gaps between the hood and bumper. It was always that way, so I'm guessing it just wasn't fitted right at the factory. It's just a couple little bumpers that you can turn to adjust the clearance, right? That fog light is cracked...

Need tips on selling my 96 rt10

I have a 1996 RT/10. 58k miles. Black/silver stripes. Clear title, no accidents. Besides the radio, the only mod is the PS overflow tube, although I replaced the PS unit as well. Owned it for almost 6 years, but since I only drive it a couple times a year nowadays, it's time for someone...

    Snake hissed at me

I second BadAsp2. I've had to replace the coolant crossover gasket, and all you need to remove is the cowl and windshield wipers - it may make it easier to maneuver your hands in there if you remove the intake manifold. Depends on the size of your hands, I guess.

Engine and Tranny swap from 06 Viper into 2000 Viper

I'd like to revive this thread. I have a 1996 RT10 with 50k miles. I plan on putting a lot more miles on it, I love it too much to let it sit in the garage. When the engine goes, I was thinking about dropping the new(gen4?) engine/trans into it. Personally I like the looks of the 96 the...

    Gen1 shuddering after shutoff?

Thanks, good idea, dunno why I didn't think of that one. It has 49,000 miles. I've had it for 3 years and don't know the last time they were changed. Still gets 18mpg city, ~25mpg hwy. I will get them changed though... recommendations on which plugs/wires to get? Also, anybody know the best...

    Gen1 shuddering after shutoff?

96 RT10, after I turn it off, it shudders for maybe a half second. Has been idling a bit rough too, but I just chalked that up to the different climate since I recently moved. Should I be concerned about this?

    Melting Gen 1 Headlight Switch...

Re: Melting Gen 1 Headlight Switch... I found it a bit difficult to remove the old connector - here's what I had to do: -unscrew the panel underneath the steering wheel -pry the old melted connector off the switch - I had to use a flathead screwdriver -while pressing the small button on top of...

What's in your bag of tricks?

Oh I've been there man, but only in my old acura! In the owners manual of the Viper, it actually says not to do that though, but it doesn't say why.... Have you ever had to do it?

What's in your bag of tricks?

Thanks, yeah... I have to give credit to my wonderful girlfriend for the working cellphone and the helping hand in keeping the clamp open, and to my dad for the idea to stretch the hose. Awesome idea on the jumper cables! Why didn't I think of that... 3 years and haven't needed them - yet
