I dont care if there were 1 million Z06s made, or out there. No bonestock Z with DRs is going to break 10s.

Well you really ought to get out more often, because it has been done with the factory delivered run flats as well as the DR's. I think there have been about 15000 Z's made to date so I guess they didn't need 1 million Z's to get it done!

Quit trying to blanket yourself with the "I am buying a new ACR". Your runs have been questioned even by members over on the corvetteforums to. Get real dude.

I don't know what (blanket yourself means?) If your insinuating I wouldn't buy a Viper, you need to do your homework better as I am a longtime Viper owner and have raced with many guys on this board from Englishtown to Beech Bend Raceway, and set some of the fastest times run in a stock GTS period! The runs were done with Former VCA President and Friend of mine George Farris along with many other VCA members in attendance, can you say the same? And if someone has questioned my runs? I don't know about it and don't really care! If anyone, anytime wants to check any of my cars out they are more than welcome to do what ever test someone does to verify it! But what I really think is your Full of S**T! Your a Jealous Poser with a Viper that can't drive and doesn't like the idea that you can't beat a Z06! Get used to it! Now I must admit I am (assuming) you own a Viper?

If anyone is going to break Jamie's Z06 time in a Viper, it is likely to be Jamie. I would think that you all would welcome him to the board and the VCA with open arms! I can't wait to see him do it! I find it very interesting that he has chosen the ACR as his weapon of choice. Coincidentally, a few of the tuners (RSI and UGR) have as well. Should be interesting to see what the draggers do with a road course car.

Boxer I appreciate it! But I have to say they don't need to welcome me to this board! I have been on this board Since 1996 owning and racing Vipers before most of the guys making the negative comments knew what a Viper was? If any of the talkers want to show up at the track and back up their mouth all they have to do is let me know and I would be more than happy to educate them! The long time Viper guys that actually take their cars to the track and not just race their (Keyboards) such as Jason Heffner, George Farris, Joseph Houss and MANY others who have raced with and against me know my reputation. The Facts are a certain number of (POSERS) don't like ANYTHING they don't own! If someone owns something these POSERS don't they percieve it as a threat, they attack because they don't know how to react in any other way. In not just on the Viper Board its like that on all boards. There will always be a certain number of insecure guys on every board that are going to respond like that. Sad but true!

Jamie, since you love the Z06 so much, did you at least show it some love and get it a real paint job? You didn't leave it as is, with that rustoleum can quality, orange peel, did you? Heck, if GM isn't going to show their flagship some love, I sure hope their consumers do.

Alex just when I wasn't sure if you were an idiot...........You have to open your mouth and leave no doubt! I agee the Viper definately has a better paint job than my Z06! But I think my Ford here has a better one than the Viper, what do you think? Alex don't let that Z06 get the best of you! If your going to be so JEALOUS of a car let it be this ONE! Not the Z06! People will be more understanding and you will be able to mask how much of a LOSER you are much more easily!

My friend who owns a 07 Z + Headers, CAI, ported TBs, exhaust switch+ tune. Can only muster up 11.5s quickest 11.4 .. For you to say that you broke 10's with just DRs is a joke. And the other fact that other Z owners on the corvetteforum calling you out and questioning your runs also raises red flags.

I don't care what your NON DRIVING friend runs, some guys run 13's in Vipers, so what!
But the Corvette Forum stuff your just a LIAR! Plain and simple! Name (ONE PERSON) that called me out or questioned my runs! Most of the guys that race on that board race with me, and I surely wouldn't be on top of the fast lists if what you say is true as the moderators of that site did sit on top of the fast list themselves. I think I can explain this easiest is pure and simple JEALOUSY!

Why don't you tell everyone what (Blanket yourself with an ACR means?)

Wallbanger your right! I am not going to try and convince anyone of anything because you are right it is a waste of time because you can't change an opinion on the net. But when you make false accusations or claim to know something you claim is fact when I know for a fact it is not I am going to respond period. I am sure the best advice is when you don't like a thread don't respond to it and you won't be affected one way or the other.

I don't mind if you don't believe me? But its bull**** when someone makes up lies to help substanciate their opinion!

One last note to you VIPE, the DR and RF runs were done at a track rental at the (6speedonline forum racers meet) and the runs are on (Video) and the track (MIR) owner Royce Miller signed off on the timeslips verifing the validity of the runs as well as the tires used.
I know this means nothing to you, but it does mean there were many people and camera's in attendance that witnessed the runs and it was not a he said she said situation.

Jamie, you are presenting yourself as a troll and nothing more. You call me an idiot while you have the language writing skills of a 4th grade, back row drifter. Please don't challenge me with your sub-literate rubbish anymore. You are making yourself look like a veritable imbecile.

Was your pic of the Ford GT supposed to impress me? If I wanted a GT, I would have bought one. As for as your proclamations that I need to worry about Z06's, think again. I have already a$$ whipped 5 of them (2 with my Viper and 3 with my '68 vette). I love the fact that GM builds so many vettes. It's merely more a$$ whipping fun for me. Don't forget who you are talking to. Ford Gt's are not bad but they don't really impress me. Your red one is not attractive at all. You should have picked one with white and blue stripes.

Although drag racing doesn't interest me much, I enjoy a little highway fun now and then. To me, drag racing is the miniature golf of the auto racing world. Putt away, *** Wee Furman. These cars are built for so much more. Now grow up, take some english language classes and above all, don't fck with me, nerd.

Jamie, look forward to seeing you at the track! Road course that is! If you can beat my (bone stock drive train) 00 with your ACR, I will buy you a beer! (I'm spotting you five or six seconds-even as a novice, you gotta like them odds!) As for getting into racing, check out Viperracingleague.com. I am sure you know that you will need a add a few safety items, like roll cage, harness, fuel cell, and fire system. All dead weight, but hey, that 600 HP will haul it around ok. You can run SCCA or NASA, but man what a crowd. Very few comparable cars running when you have a Viper. Maybe one or two will be there. Its more fun when the track is full of them. Its also good to have tech support, tires, etc, all Viper specialists. Definately sign up early for VIR, Mid-Ohio and Putnam Park. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Watch for No. 12 in your mirror! Jim

Jamie,

Don't let the naysayers get to you. You know that you are an excellent driver, and your results prove it and have for years back from when you ran excellent times in your previous Viper.

In many ways the Viper helped push GM to build the new Z06, and soon the ZR-1. And in turn the Z06 and Ford GT pushed Dodge to step up their game and build the '08 Viper and new ACR. Thankfully.

Taking personal bias out of the picture, the Z06, Viper and Ford GT have all been great in forwarding American performance cars to actually be in direct competition against their far more expensive European rivals (from an all around performance perspective).

I'm glad that you are getting a new ACR, both because I think that you are going to set some of the best 1/4 mile times with the car. And also because I think that you are going to enjoy the car's impressive balanced performance overall. I've read nothing but good reviews of how well the ACR feels on a race track at speed. And what is really important is the combination of exceptional straight line speed, together with great braking and handling that sets apart the top performance cars in the world from so many tweaked dragsters that can only go fast in a straight line.

Wow. I can't believe this thread is still going ... :eater:

Pardon my ignorance, but why does the rear end gear ratio make any difference when standing start acceleration on a stock Viper is already traction limited?

And what is the difference between "stock" and "bone stock." If a car is modified from OE, it isn't stock. Period.

It isn't only about standing-start traction. Just for example, say the car, while already moving, accelerates up through the RPM range in 3.5 seconds, before shifting with the stock gears, but accelerates up through the range in 3.2 seconds with 3.33 gears (watch how fast the RPM needle moves while driving to get the idea). With three gears involved the car might be 0.9 seconds faster ... that might be offset by an additional shift to 4th gear, if required, and say that shift takes 0.5 seconds ... the car might still be 0.4 seconds quicker. Nothing to do with traction.

Said another way, I can just about gurantee that a Z06 would accelerate slower if it came with stock 3.07 gears.

And on another post:
"Actually Jamie beat Rangers time. So you have Jamie, Ranger, then you have about 10-15 others on there fast list from 11.1-11.3 1/4 mile times, bone stock. I love the Viper, but face it, the Z06 beats it with two equal drivers on equal tracks. Mostly due to gearing, weight and the fact that the Z06 holds its peak power for like 1000 rpms or something like that."

Sorry, but I have to disagree with that conclusion. If ALL the magazines say the new '08 Viper is (now) faster than the Z06 (stock for stock), and we know they favor GM/Vettes more to begin with, then we gotsta go with the magazines ... they can't ALL be wrong. :2tu:

*** Wee Furman, do you think that GT has a nice profile? Let me show you what a nice profile is so you don't make that mistake again. Your GT looks like a UPS truck compared to my vette. This has to hurt, just has to.

Alex I was going to let this go because this type of negative banter really brings down the quality of the site IMO and this will be my last response, but I wanted to make it Crystal Clear what I think of you and your cars before I leave. You truly are a BS Artist and a TROLL which is demonstrated by the number of posts you have and all the different threads you respond to. Even though I let you have the last word and I didn't respond to your last negative post, a Troll like you can't leave it alone and have a desire to continue this bull**** you started with the negative talk a couple of posts back with the Z06 paint. You are an as*hole and you are probably one of the most immature people I have ever seen post on a board. Your car in the pictures looks like s**t to me and probably most people who see it , why don't you buy a set of sill plates that are missing above the exhaust before you parade pictures of that junk! I will be coming down racing at Bradenton in the not too distant future and maybe you can bring your punk ass out there with one of your show pieces and I will set you straight on a few things! That is if you even own a Viper or anything else other than a keyboard? Those aren't your neigbors cars are they? Then I want you to come back on the board and post the results if you have the balls chump!

Are you taking a break from your miniature golf tournament, *** Wee Furman? How is your putt game with that Z06 doing? Did anybody find out that your Z06 has a tune and ported heads, yet?

My corvette was photographed right after it got home from the body shop after being painted. The rocker mouldings are not on yet and the side tubes are not even the ones that go with the custom headers. If you knew anything, you would see that the side tubes are not even fastened on, thus they sag toward the back. In other words, the car is not finished yet but that does not make it a piece of junk.

I couldn't care less if you doubt that I own any Vipers. One thing we both know for sure; you are sub-literate trash and wouldn't even make servant grade in my house. Question marks belong at the end of questions. You frequently put them at the end of statements, like an imbecile would. Your lack of language skills is embarrassing, to say the least. Save some of the money you are blowing on cars and get a suitable education, *** Wee grunt. Like I said before; drag racing doesn't interest me and is the miniature golf of the auto racing world. Besides, if you even heard my '68 vette idle, you would piss in your pants and run home in hysterics. Even your ported and tuned "bone stock" vette wouldn't have a prayer. Next time think twice about coming on a Viper forum and bashing them. Like the other member said, you aren't fooling anybody with your claim of impartiality because of a pending ACR purchase.

I'll run you. My N/A GTS has ran many C6Zit. I'll see if yours is magically delicious.

You don't even have to goto Bradenton....OSW would be fine.

I would really like to see if you have the balls to run the mile with me. If you can't do it in the C6Zit...we can do it on foot ;)

Disturbed, after all the Z06's you have ***** slapped, maybe "*** Wee" Furman's Z06 rear clip should become your backyard planter. Of course, you realize that his former nickname was "Full Moon" Furman, before being updated to "*** Wee". Legend has it that if you put your ear to Furman's garage door in the middle of a full moon night, you would hear the distinctive sound of ratchets and dremel tools. He is also known to own the only garage in his neighborhood with 2 skylights over his garage. You could say that he is one of the most notorious midnight "tweakers". Hell, he out-tweaked "Ratchet" Ranger!

Good time, although I'm not surprised. The '08s are beasts and should be in the 10's shortly (I believe).

I'm amazed at some of the people in this thread. I swear to God I think some of the people on this board are 14 and just post up Viper pictures they found on the internet. So many of you need to grow up.

As far as the '08 Viper vs. C6 Z debate....I just don't see how equal drivers on the same day could do better in the Z. The '08 Vipers are just simply more powerful. C6 Z's don't have the best gearing for 1/4 mile runs either. You have to short shift 4th gear which means you are not in your powerband at the end of the strip.

My first time out, I kept trapping in 3rd gear and it was costing me 2 - 4mph and who knows how much ET.

There was a couple of reasons that I picked the 3.33 vs 3.45 or higher. I plan on spraying this car and I'll need the gears in order to stay in 4th. :headbang:
4th gear - 6200rpm = 3.33 = 150mph
4th gear - 6200rpm = 3.45 = 145mph
4th gear - 6200rpm = 3.55 = 141mph

These cars will run low 130's with just bolt on's like headers and exhaust so spray will definitely take it into the 140's and I didn't want to chance needing 5th. ;)

The other was interior noise related to rpm's when highway driving. Some systems create a good bit of drone and wanted to avoid that at 1800 - 2,000 rpm's.

For strictly an all motor car with bolt on's 3.55's would have been the best pick. Good luck you guys with whatever you pick.

God Blessm
Keith
you do not need bolt ons to run in the 130s. i went 131 last night at great lakes dragway in wi. the car is COMPLETELY STOCK even the air pressure in the tires

PeeWee...pull your head out of your exhaust and run me already.

Disturbed I am running the Heffner Shootout on the 12th of December in Bradenton, I will run your raggedy Viper whatever you have done to it , if its modified you might win? Hell you can put a big block in a pinto and run 9's. If its stock I will destroy it! So bring that piece of s**t down to Bradenton and lets see what it does! Or are you just another keyboard poser? And maybe when you get there you can blow me up from *** wee to man size!
