(2) 2004 SRT-10\'s @ Dodge Dealership here in STL

I went by the local Dodge dealership here in St. Louis (Southtown Dodge) in my Viper to see a Prowler parked outside the front. Talked to the guy for awhile and a sales guy came out and wanted to show me something inside...

2004 SRT-10 (Red)

The car looked SWEET and they wanted MSRP=$84995 (is that right?).

He also said they're getting a BLACK SRT-10 in a couple of weeks. The red calipers looked sweet with the red paint. Anyway, just wanted to rant on because I was suprised they already had a 2004 (or any for that matter). He told me I "better put some money down on it because it will be gone ASAP!" I don't think MSRP is a good deal even if I had $84k to spend on a Gen III. Someday I'll get one, but I have to keep the GEN II.

The ordering door is about to open for 04's.

Call me soon! They will sell out fast! "

The deal on my 2004 that is already in the DC system is $100 over invoice [$7000+ savings] :)

Like Dr. Roof says: http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB21&Number=321810&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Mike Robbins at RingGold Dodge is the man to call.

Very Pleasant to deal with as well as many other Viper salespeople, However he has a MUCH BETTER PRICE!!! Even if he wasn't Nice, he saves you a ton of Money!!! And the Savings automatically makes him a nice Guy!

"Invoice" seems to change from dealer to dealer.

What PRICE did you guys end up paying for your cars????? No need for it to be top secret.

The 2003 invoice I have in front of me is : Invoice: $76,539 msrp: $83,795
I don't know the exact 2004 invoice, that is why I said "$100 over".
2004 msrp is $84,795 (from e-bay window sticker) so I would guess 2004 invoice will be $76,339 give or take a little. Therefore I will be paying approximately $76,439 plus tax/tag/title. Always buy a vehicle based off invoice.

I think the 04's will be going MUCH LESS then MSRP! I see pleanty of 04's out for sale already, just imagine how it's gonna be in a couple of months! Just look already at the saving on Dr. Roof's 04, $100 over invoice!?! WOW!

Re: (2) 2004 SRT-10\'s @ Dodge Dealership here in STL

Thanks Tony.

$76,500. Great price. Seems a fair one as well. I love the Gen3 but it's not a $85, $95K car. 5,000 miles later it's a $68-$72,000 car.

Interesting how confused some dealers/sellers still are. I see new 03s & 04s priced from $78,000 to the $90s.

FYI, $100 over invoice was the exact same deal the certificate holders got through Ringgold Chy/Dodge on the 2003's.

The way I have been explained is that DC has not yet allowed dealers to electronically place orders for '04's, so it is hard for me to imagine a dealer would physically have one on the lot. It would be interesting to go there and see what year it is.

Re: (2) 2004 SRT-10\'s @ Dodge Dealership here in STL

Your correct John, dealers cannot place orders yet. The 2004's that are out there are called "pre spec" cars. The way it was told to me is that each zone got xx number and were just sent to various dealers. We don't know how these dealers were picked. We checked one of the e-bay 2004's on the DC computer and it did show in stock/unsold at that dealer. The way I was alerted to the 04's on showrooms was via an Atlanta Viper guy. He has seen one in person in Atlanta. I was debating this issue with him until I did some investigating. I will say: my wifes black SRT is now in the system to be built and already has a vin #.

Tony - I really don't understand how your purchase has gone this far without arriving on a final purchase price.

Were you required to put a lot down as a deposit?

Hey guys,
Ours was ordered in by our dealership.... delivery date is near the end of the month. I am not sure of the specifics, but they are available. The thing that bothers me is, there are no green sheet purchases on vipers... what a bummer.
Later,
Joe

It is just based off of invoice...whatever that will be. My dealer (which is also a very good friend) could find out exactly what invoice is but we know within $100 so that is close enough. So....he says I will allow you $xx on your rt/10 as trade in and your price is $100 over invoice. So I really do know the price plus or minus $100 which is cose enough for me. As far as a deposit, I think about $1000 would be enough...it is negotible. I got the "friend" deposit amount.

no floor models, all vipers leave the plant as sold order(ie: w/ someones name on the sticker) even if its ficticious or bogus, as i uderstand it.

I don't think the pre-spec cars are considered sold orders. I imagine there are quite a few dealers that are ticked that some 04's are out there and they can't order them yet.

Re: (2) 2004 SRT-10\'s @ Dodge Dealership here in STL

I have one up near me for sale. It is a 2004 SRT-10 in Red. Those calipers make the car looks a lot better. Well, anyway the car is sitting on the showroom floor awaiting to be sold. Took a look at it but I am still not a huge fan. Nice looking for the person that would like it though. I just find it funny that this small dealer has one but Buhler (the number two Viper dealer last year) does not have any yet. Weird isn't it?

Got to ask this question before I forget, why are dealers selling these SRT's for under MSRP? Is the demand that low?

Green Sheet Purchase is for employees of DC
It is 4-5 % under dealer cost. You call, get a control number and give it to your dealer and save big $$$$ on a new car/truck purchase not available on the vipers though.. Cheap a$$ DC...get with it and give us ( workers of DC) the employee price for a viper

there is not employee purchase plan on vipers, or at least there has not been in the past. also i prefer the grey/silver calipers to the red less tacky.
