Question - I had my camshaft ground for 4 degrees advance from a 114 which should have given me 110 lobe center line. When I degreed my cam (checked 4 times) It comes in at 112. Is it worth having Greg Good bush the 2-3 degrees advance? I am thinking that the torque and power band is only going to move about 300 rpm lower. Anybody have any thoughts?

Advancing will help your mid range, and slightly lessen your top end performance , may be negligible , also depends on whether you want more mid or top end performance. :)

I asked Greg and he is going to put some thought into it. I think Tony was off almost 6 degrees on his Gen 2. If I was off 6, I would bush for sure. Since it is possible to have a 2 degree valve train error and the car will only be street driven, I'm thinking it will not be noticeable at all.

I experienced this here: http://forums.viperclub.org/2848229-post66.html. My new cam had a 109 centerline and I kept coming up with 115. I had Greg bush the camshaft sprocket so I would achieve 109. Problem solved. I gave Greg my creampuff cam so he could put it into his "cam doctor" to identify what it's really doing. The other option was to install an adjustable camshaft sprocket (Cloyes) but I heard from a few people that had it bust on them so I stayed away from it. Best bet is to PM Greg and get his opinion.

Love your build data and info and I am sure you have inspired many. I have read your build post and it was an inspiration for my build. I can see bushing from a 115 to a 109, but mine is ground for 110 and I am technically only 2 degrees off. Should I bush 3 advance from a 112 to a 109 is my question and is it going to really noticeable on the street?

Your 114º is the "Lobe Separation Angle," right? I don't think the 112º intake centerline will be less gutsy than a 110º intake centerline, especially considering it's a big V10. If it were a smaller motor going to 8000-9000RPM, I might consider the hassle for an extra 2º.

What would be considered too much or little seperation? I have a solid cam in an engine, 108 intake centerline I think.
