Ok, relax already! No one wants to ban you!!!!!

That much chrome on a black RT has to be a sin, somehow!

Looks nice!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, work is really gearing up for us at this time. I can't stay away that long. I've already played hooky a bit lately, from work and family, to go road racing! Maybe if it was in Las Vegas... that would be different....

And you?

those look awesome!

i have one question: does putting larger rims on a viper hurt its performance? seems like i read somewhere that it slows the car down? doesnt seem right but thought i would ask those that know much more than i.

The black with the chrome 20's looks mighty flashy allright.

You should look at getting the Northwind lowered coil caps to drop the car 5/8". That is what I did (post avatar) and it looks much nicer with less gap in the wheel wells, especially noticable in the the rear, but it doesn't drop it so much (like the Eibachs) that you scrape the bottom of the car everywhere you go.

It still needs to have the springs compressed to install them, and you still need a wheel alignment afterwards, but the shorter spring caps don't change the stock spring rate, or wheel travel. The just effectively lower the body of the car relative to the suspension.

So Cal Viper,

Rims look good, I have a 97 blue/white GTS with the ST 20", they are the best rims, after seeing your pics I think I am going to chrome also.

Can you give me some insight on how the chroming process went.

I assume they dipped the entitre rim, did they take them apart and do center cap, bolts and rim separately or just dip the whole thing.

How much did it cost and how long does it take.

I think those look like crap - why would you buy those...??????

Just kidding - I think they look incredible with your black... Each car color needs to be considered - I don't think mine would look goo with them chromed - and the rims are slightly lighter than the graphite... Perfect match...

Man those look bad...

John,

For the dust (or squeaking) problems, I switched my brake pads to EBCs. I picked EBC Greens for the front, and Reds for the rear (for a little better rear bias).

I used to have to clean my wheels every 3 days, as they would go black quickly (which is a pain to do with the ACR wheels), and now I can go several weeks without cleaning them, and I also drive my car every day. The other big bonus it that my EBC pads don't squeal at all, where the stock pads were noisy when warm.

John,

Your car was already great looking before. Now it's stunning. The wheels really catch the eye.

That looks awesome, the only thing I would have done differently would have been to get red calipers, they look so cool.
