My middle daughter is in the first grade. Each week one child in the classroom is given "Star of the Week" honors in which they can bring something from home each day for a show and tell. My daughter Ashley is the star this week and she asked me if I would bring the car to school. I emailed the teacher and set up the time this morning. I parked right in front and went inside the school. (no metal detectors went off-whew) I lightly tapped on the classroom door and the kids started buzzing with excitement, as they had been told what the show and tell of the day was. Each child got in a single file line behind my daughter and followed her outside. As we got outside I could hear the 'Wow' and 'Sweet Ride' comments already. They circled the car like a bunch of Indians and pelted me with one question after another. One little boy had to tell me that his dad has a Maseratti and so on, then finally, the question I had been waiting for... Would you start it for us? I looked an the teacher and she gave a nod. I had the children around the back step to the side and sat down in my leather throne. It turn over rather quietly this time as normally the supercharged beast roars to life. I looked at the kids around the car and blipped the throttle.. all 21 kids around the car jumped back at least two feet, and I think the little boy who's dad has the Maseratti $hit his pants! There were a few squeals of delight but many looked pretty scared; including the teacher. I shut it down and then said my goodbye's. It was a blast and my daughter's friends think she has the coolest dad in the class. (and of course they're right
) It's hard to believe my car will be 10 years old in a couple months and still has this 'star' status!
