Anyone know how the best way to remove the emblems from the tailgate and doors? It is on my Ram srt-10. The big ram head on the tailgate and the word RAM on the doors is a bit much.

Thanks in advance. :2tu:

If it's the glue on type, I believe you use dental floss and work your way under it. Mark the location if you intend to put it back.

Hockeysnake: if the emblems are the same as used on Vipers, I just did this last weekend to my side emblems.

As AviP and Ulysses mentioned above, take some dental floss and a hair dryer. Heat up a section of the emblem and then pull the floss underneath the emblem. Mine came off like butter and with no residue – 10 year old emblems!

Once removed, I cleaned the area with an adhesive remover. In my case, I was reapplying new emblems. I just used blue painters tape to mark the corners of the old emblem BEFORE removing the old emblems and then used this as a guide to replace the emblems in the exact position as before. Once applied, I reapplied a wax coat. Done.

Hockeysnake, The instructions above are right on, did the same thing with my Ram SRT/10, also removed the Ram wording from both doors, Ram on the front of the hood, and the Dodge wording on the tail gate, and replaced with Red Sneaky Pete emblems bought on ebay,(dealership wants a fortune for them). looks factory done, Very sharp......My truck is red. and I prefer Sneaky Pete over Fangs...I also found some very small brushed alum. Sneaky Pete emblems to dress up the interior.....

Can you remove the VIPER RT/10 emblems from the front fender using the same method? There's not a hole or anything behind them, is there?

So, if I remove them, it will just be solid paint, and look like they were never there (provided a do a good job)?

Yes that is correct, these emblems were put on after painting at the factory, and of course this is assuming your car was not repainted since the factory paint.
I re-did the emblems on my 97 GTS, and found no fade in the paint, Thanks for the good paint job DC.....my 2c

Okay, cool, thanks. I would rather have "bare" fenders with no emblems.

if the temp is hot enough, you can peel them off with your finger, or just heat them up with a hair dryer then peel them off, very easy, but you gotta mark them before the remove, so you know where the new one is gonna go, plus clean the area after remove...

I am not putting on new ones. I am going to just remove them. I want bare red-paint fenders.
