Hi, im asking this question for my cousin, today he had a small problem with his 04 SRT-10 , when he accelerate somehow the engine is running out of breath or power @ 5700 rpm then it gets back normal after that ?! I asked him to stop and hold the rpm until redline to check if it’s the engine or gears, etc, same problem! Anyone with same problem ?

same thing happens to mine.it feels like it loads up and after a while seems to clear.

May its the plugs or need the cpu to be reset by a dealer.

no recall we checked and it didn’t need any we will check the spark plugs and can we reset the PCM by d/c the battery ?

Well strange I had a chance to drive the car last night and somehow after 5700 RPM the car wont accelerate any farther and wont go over 5800 rpm give or take a little !! I even did a highway run running about 160mph/165mph but the car didn’t manage to go faster than that no matter what and the rpm stopped @ 5800 or something !!! Something is holding the car don’t know what! Any ideas?

Sounds like your rev limiter is coming in too early. Or, your tach is innacurrate by about 300 RPM.
