Got a chance to do some daytime drag racing at Speedworld in AZ today. My previous best time was 12.01 seconds.

Temp was about 60 degrees and sunny, very little wind. My first pass of the day was 11.85 at 122 mph. Yeah!

2nd pass 11.63 and got better from there. I only had 1 pass over 12 secs, because I spun like hell then hit the rev limiter - and still ran a 12.2!

Did a total of 7 or 8 passes, with a best ET of 11.556 seconds and a top trap speed of 122.948 MPH and a best 60' time 1.665.

I have a relatively stock SRT-10 coupe (Belanger headers and 3" exhaust, DC performance reflash).

I was running 91 octane pump gas and using 18" drag radials.

It's amazing what a little cool weather does for ETs here in AZ...

Sounds cool!:2tu:

I was hoping for lower ET's about a month ago, but apparantly it was too cold (40's), and I could not get any traction.

Stock I ran 11.90 @ 122 earlier this year.

After mods, (DC Tune, Filters, Corsa, 3.55 Gears) I managed an 11.85 @ 120 - spinning like crazy in 2nd and 3rd.

I'm looking for times like yours once Spring gets here.:)

Thanks all of you! I think the combination of a reasonably cool temp (about 60) at midday with the sun warming the track was a key. Cool enough to help maintain peak power, yet warm enough to still get some grip on the track.

Most of the street drags in AZ are night time, and there is far less traction when it's cold.
