I was wondering if anyone has a block torque/honing plate that I may borrow or rent for a Gen II rebuild? ?

I would hate to buy it for just one motor rebuild.
Thanks

I wound up buying one when I did my motor rebuild from Arrow for $300.

Then Scott (Vipermed) at Elite Motorsports gave me $200 for it.

I guess you could always buy it and sell it, since you only need it once.

Maybe touch base with Scott or one of the other engine builders to borrow one.

Not quite sure if this applies to the Gen 2 but with the Gen 1 it is important to NOT turn the crank over when the heads are off as you risk the chance of dislodging the cylinder sleeves. Dodge has special "Dog Bones" that need to put on if you plan to rotate the crank at all when the heads are off. I was able to fabricate these and used them when I changed the piston rings in my carry-over 1993 (like many 1992 Vipers - my rings never fully seated and I was using oil.)

Good luck with the rebuild.

Acellr8 may have hit on an idea. . . anyone want to sell theirs? ?

No the sleeves are interference fit on the GEN II.

I have found a local high end engine builder that deals with mostly aluminum blocks to help me out.

I may also be able to help with a "cure" for some of the viper tax on these rebuilds. I will keep all posted.....

I will gladly pay you tuesday,,,,for a honing plate today....
