Below is the my last contact before he emailed that he sold the car to someone else! This is after I spent good money to have the car inspected. Did he think I didn't want the car? It took a few day's to get my inspection, I guess it was not fast enough for these guy's. He tried to talk me out of the inspection which made me want it even more, Then the little fkr sold my car. I can't tell you how pissed I am. Anyway please don't give these losers any business, They are NOT HONEST PEOPLE!
PS Still looking for a 02 graphite let me know if you know anyone selling. Sorry for venting on this board I'm just so mad! :evilmad:

Its hard enough to find a Viper that you want given limited production numbers but to have one almost in the palm of your hand then get it taken away has got to ****. Seems like more and more Vipers are going up for sale, another one will come along. Good luck!!

I lost the first one I was serious about. It was at a dealer in Riverside. I had the price wrapped up with the fleet manager I knew over the phone. It had less than 500 miles and was a couple of years old but it made me a little suspicious. I wanted to get a Dodge dealer to do an inspection. The fleet guy said to call over to the Dodge dealer next to him as they had inspected the car. I called, confirmed the mileage and the condition...everything was great. So I told them I'd get the money together and come up as soon as I could.

The car sold retail at the dealers asking price that night. The fleet guy called the next morning to apologize. The buyer who is/was on the board paid $10K over my deal. We both lost.

But then I bought a better one ;)

Check your EMail, I just happened to be on the phone today about some VCA business with the dealer that bought it, as he knew I had bought a car from them he mentioned that he had bought all their Vipers, we discussed your situation and he will cut you a better than normal deal on the car. After his increased costs to move the car etc you should still be within a couple thousand of the deal at Performance. And still below market value. Full details in the email I sent you.

Well, I've never done the dilly dally thing and always gone on gut feel when buying sports cars.
I guess that's the good side to it.

If you do buy it, have you found out a way to register it in Cali since it has under 7500 miles on it?

Yeah, I'm kinda curious myself...is it possible to register it?

Yes it's not a problem unless the emissions control only covers 49 states. I have never heard of a viper not passing smog, so not to worry. As to the new car register I haven't found out if I have to register it new will I have to pay the $3,000 gas gussler tax?

Hi Lee, I talked to Bernie today myself @ BJ Motors he told me if he doesn't sell it to some guy coming to see it Monday I could have it for $4,000.00 more than the deal I had, Kinda ***** don't it. I can't blame him but I would think under the circumstances he could do me at his cost which would be $5,000.00 less plus his transport. O Well?????????? God Bless America :usa:
PS Lee I never got your email? surfbowie@aoldotcom but I want to thank you for Everything you've been nothing but help and a gentleman. :2tu:
Thank you,
JC

Did you have an actual deposit on the car? If not, you really can't blame them. I have sold cars in the past and can't even count the number of people that said they "were coming with CASH this week!!!!!" only never to show up. Dealers must get that on a daily basis.

sad not being able to get the car you wanted :evilmad: The next car you find you should get a refundable deposit in writing or they will sell that one to.

Sorry that this happened to you but like Mike said, if you do not have any money down on the car even IF you paid to have it inspected, the first person with green that walks in the door and wants it, can buy it. Just the way it is. Money talks, as they say. It ***** but things happen for a reason.

There is no problem getting the car into California, as all Vipers are 50 State Certified since 1999. The mileage issue is a completely moot point.

Sincerely,

I think it's a sales tax issue for cars under 7500 into cali.
