Coolant problem

Hi there,

it seems I have not enough coolant in my 92 car at the moment. I've looked into the hole in the wheelcase and there isn't any coolant left. The temps are reasonable.

What coolant does it like and where do I fill her up, just in the radiator?

I all ready know about the leaks which can occur with heavy bumbs, so i want to fill her up and check if it holds on to the liquid!

Do NOT try to fill it through the radiator cap!!! The cap is low...need to fill via heater hose...will need to then raise right front up to complete "burping". JonB has a write-up on this somewhere. Your Viper takes "Mopar Coolant/Antifreeze 3 Year Formula" (it's green)in a 50/50 mix with distilled water...about 21 quart capicity by my memory. Of course there are other products you can use, but at this point you are "topping up". Has your car had the new head-gaskets installed???

This is NOT an easy car when dealing with the cooling system(94's on up are easier)...be sure of your plan BEFORE you go too far!!

Like Steve says , 92 [and 93] are unique beasts extremely vulnerable to trapped air. I had one of each......

And you don't really know if the temperatures are reasonable, because the temperature sensor might not even be immersed in coolant!!!

The ONLY safe way to pop the radiator cap is to have the front end jacked waaaay up. Otherwise pulling the radiator cap will partially drain the block !!
