As time goes on..... I have had a Red 01 R/T in D status since late January. Can anyone provide a few words of encouragement or experience with current manufacturing and delivery times?

Thanks.........

Richard,

I just got my 01 Sapphire ACR a couple of days ago. I had ordered it in September and it went into I status back in December. It stayed in I for a long time and it seemed like it would never be shipped. I am the most impatient person with things like this.
I have had two other Vipers and I sold my last one several months ago thinking I would be getting my new one anytime. Anyway now that I have gotten my car it was worth the wait. (that's the good news) The bad news is if your car is in D status you probably have some more waiting to do. Hang in there and start buying your after market parts to hold you over until you get your car.
Regards,

Steve

Richard,I guess it's nice to know that I am not the only one waiting on a Viper in "D" status. Ordered mine in November and have been told by the Local 5 Star that it might come in April or May.
What I have been told by more experienced owners on the Board that it might be longer. Yuk.....
The Sales Guy did give me a set of numbers from the VIN. I passed those along to someone who volunteered to research the status and he is helping me with trying to get info.
I feel you're pain Man.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn Pro.

Dear RichardR;

I am on my second Viper, and can tell you that both took about six months. If you are a previous Viper owner, it seems to help. Once the Viper hits "D-1", it seems to go pretty fast. You may have a month or so to wait. I am only speaking from my experience.

The new Viper 01' is much improved (in my opinion) over my 98'. You will really enjoy it. Follow the break-in procedure, and change your oil as everyone recommends before 300 miles. I think folks are saying to change oil around 250, which seems extreme. I paid a pile of money as you probably will, so I will follow suggestions.

You will really love this car. Respect it until you break it in and get to know it. The Viper will be here soon!

Sincerely,

Jim

"STATUS REPORT"

CAAP has already shipped over 850 Vipers for 2001.

The target is about 1700, so 50% are gone, with 6 build-months remaining thru Sept.

The CAAP "gateline" is represented by D1 status, and usually represents about 200-225 cars. "D" stats represents additional sold-orders that are not yet gatelined. (This is where your Viper is....in D.

There are currently 300++ in D status .

So your car would not be built for at LEAST 40+ days or so.....
and if it is #300+ in D status, (no way to know) it could be 2 months more......

Did I tell ya the story about GTS owners who waited 1.5+ years?
Hundreds or orders rolled over as 97? ...And 1993 owners who waited 2 YEARS?
