Man, this winter storage is killing me! I'm so bored, just had to have something to tinker with on the Viper...so this weekend, I decided to de-baffle the airbox. Did a bunch of searches and couldn't really see much harm in doing this with the 'potential' to increase airflow to the filters. Also, water will still drain out of the airbox just the same. I never drive in the rain and I don't spray water directly into the NACA duct when I wash the car so...out came the dremel and the rest is history. Gave me something to do anyhow. As for HP gains, if I can gain 1/2 HP I'd be happy.

he he, looks good! I would be doing the same thing if I were in your snow shoes. But here in Texas, we ain't got no winters. :) good job being creative and finding ways to make your car faster. How about adding little breather filters to your valve covers? I'm sure there are a few other things you can do...

I think at speed you'll pick up more H.P. because of the true ram air effect.
Maybe, maybe not. A few previous posters had stated that the NACA duct does not provide for a true ram effect due to its location, size, etc. I really don't know. And, I'll probably never be at such high speeds to get this effect. I was just bored and thought it couldn't hurt anything but could theoretically gain something.

That's why you add Vipair to get the MAX out of it, UP TO 50 RWHP!

Aluminum panel + rivets = $7.50

$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I'm trying to unload some things to fund the supercharger but it's slow this time of year. Should be able to get one by spring.
