I would like to politely disagree with you, alternators are not constant load devices. The amount of output and thus kw lost is related to demand required by the car's 12V system .Think about it this way, a 50A alternator, if it supplied 50 amps continuously to a charged battery there would be a catastrophic ending. Energy is inconvertible it has to end up somewhere.
The amount of load is regulated by varying the strength of the rotating electric field. In theory, constant loading (minor relative to full output) due the fan being on should have little, if no affect on alternator life.
