He got me years ago, but I was one of the lucky ones that got my money back and only lost the better parts of a year's time fighting. I'm sure if you do a search you will see the story. I'm glad that I was a big part of him being banned here and exposed to the Viper community.

Wow, that name goes back years. Wasn't he the one with the polished throttle bodies that added 50 hp?

Because justice is the last thing our justice industry is concerned with. They'd rather throw somebody in prison for selling cocaine to someone who wants to buy cocaine rather than throw a family man like Hen in prison for screwing people out of millions.

I actually did a search on your old posts about this...it seems you were one of the first to expose HMS at that time. In reading some of the reponses to your posts back then you seemed to take a bit of heat from members and vendors alike. Kudos for sticking to your guns and exposing the facts.

Definately hand it to Marc as he stuck to his guns when alot of people would have walked away and said To Hell With It.(geographical distance between the two partys ect )Marc correct me if iam wrong but your case against him had to date back to around 1997-1998.All in all if it wasnt for the VCA and internet access (EXPOSE ALL OF THIS )alot more people would have got taken.

Chuck i understand the civil side of the entire HMS thing what i dont understand is why a customer who either paid MHS for goods or services rendered or has parts taken off their car and placed on another customers car by Hennessey did not charge hin CRIMINALLY with theft by deception. In NJ at least if a repair shop charges a customer for a motor job (on the build sheet the shop claims to replace rods ,pistons ect )and does not replace these items that is also a criminal matter .(If its over one thouand or so dollars it becomes a felony )When a criminal charge is included it becomes an entirely different matter as now HMS can not simply walk away

Basically if the HMS build sheet-reciept includes UPGRADED crank, pistons, rods and cam( plus machine work ) and the customer (who PAID TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars for these parts and services ) finds out that the STOCK PARTS ARE STILL IN PLACE that has got to be a CRIMINAL FELONY case of theft by deception

It follows the P.T.Barnum adage: "There's a sucker born every minute."

In the industry I work in, there's one guy who's a complete tool. There are THOUSANDS of stories of him ripping people off, insane prices, outlandish claims (rarity, quality, etc.), under-delivering, and just being an a-hole in general.
Example: Can you imagine having to make an appointment to go to a supermarket? That's what the guy does with his "showroom".
He can't be that bad, can he? Well, there's video of a regular schmoe running up behind him and kicking him in the ass at a trade show.
    How's that for bad?

So why do people continue to buy from him?
Because they don't know any better.

They see his flashy website and all the (photoshop'd/stolen) pics, and think he's the greatest thing since Barbara Dare.
They jump in without doing a minute of research, spend HUGE money, and then later find out how scammed they got.

There's a good point to all this though: No matter how bad you screw up in my industry, you will NEVER be as bad as this guy.
You could set a bus load of nuns on fire and push them off a cliff and people would say, "Yeah, but he's not as bad as XXXXXXX."

And the on-lookers would all nod.

That's obviously not true as Hennessey Motorsports is doing great business in Texas. I bought a Venom Gen2 spoiler from him last Sept and it's sitting in my garage waiting for my paint gun. Only experience I've had with Hennessey is +1. And I have been reading a lot in this thread, 1 'quoted' bad experience so far and a ton of "I heard". Also see that Marc L. posted some experience.

I assume Neeman Marcus got the Vipers they sold? Seems like a pretty good reference to me.

Ted your commenting about things that you truely know nothing about.(If you were to check the list of JUDGEMENTS against HMS you would know these judgements were there for a reason )No," i heard" from me as numerious people I KNOW FROM THE VCA NJ CHAPTER,NY VCA chapter flat out got ripped off .Ted you are new to owning a Viper(probably have owned one only for a few years ) A NJ VCA event or meeting in the late 90S BASICALLY RESULTED IN A WHO CAN TO WHO bitch session of WHO was screwed worse by Hennessey . It ALL comes down to this for YEARS Hennessey has been barred from having ANY RELATIONS with the Viper Club OF America(NO ADDS OR POSTS) because of issues that were mentioned in this thread .The VCA decided to do this was not from hearsay BUT FACT .

Tony could you post a link to some of these old threads so TED can read first hand about the exact REASONS the tuner in question has been barred from having anything to do with the VCA.

I just searched for Marc's posts and thumbed through the oldest ones listed starting from 2000 and up.

Ted, use the search feature...both here and on the Alley. I know a few members in our local chapters who go ripped off as well. It happened. Don't know if it still happens. Neiman Marcus...has anyone seen and/or heard of any HMS Neiman Marcus Vipers sold yet? But that aside...let's not forget that HMS trounced the competition at One Lap of America earlier this year. I think it commendable that his team did what they did with a modified '08 Viper at OLOA. Does that make up for past actions? :dunno: In the end, regardless of the vendor buyer beware and, as always, check out the facts not the hype.

Thanks Tony , besides Marc (Lubin )there are probably HUNDREDS of threads (NO JOKE )in reference to the tuner in question here (most ending up the same way as Mr Lubins )

I find the "tuner support psychology" fascinating. Ted (RTTTed) is a perfect example. He had a positive experience with HMS and is quick to offer support in a thread of this nature. I'm not suggesting he's in any way that he's wrong for that effort, but having read over a thousand negative posts (no exaggeration) here and at VA over the course of the last 5-6 years referring to HMS, I find Ted's instinctive support to be a perfect example of why this tuner continues to attract business.

There's some natural human "relationship" nature at work here and it greatly benefits those that provide services to and/or for things that we hold dear to us. If VCA members that access and post on our website are uninformed (my presumption regarding Ted), how can we expect the average Viper enthusiast looking to find the car of their dreams to know?

Again, I mean absolutely no offense to Ted.

City its so TRUE. My point with Ted is if the man had a great experience with HMS -God Bless, but if Ted (in fact) had educated himself as to the EXACT reason Hennessey was banned here (MANY years ago )he would realize there were definate instances (hundreds )involving horrible business practices.Instead Ted made the decision to comment .

ps Instead of Ted (RITTED)buying a front spoiler from HWS (probably sent out COD )i would love to see his GREAT experience if he had shipped his car (thosands of miles )ALONG WITH A NICE 30 GRAND deposit.

look on the bright side, that hour probably saved you and many others, money, and alot of grief!

(trust me on this one because i went through over a years worth of grief trying to get numerous knuckleheads to get MY car working right, finally just gave up, and ultimately had to finish the darn project myself. the car has worked fine for over 2 years now thanks to me - but what a PITA.)

Actually, I'm speaking truth. Unlike badgts (notice even his name is 'bad') I don't spend all my time badmouthing people I don't know. Although badgts seems to think he knows everything about everything (and even more about me than I do) I speak from experience. I did buy a front spoiler from Roe Racing and like it (badgtssays I bought a front Hennessey?). I did really buy a spoiler from him and paid in advance (as advised by another Tuner) which is in my garage. Only the Venom spoiler looks good and blends into the car's lines. I'm not pretending to be a ricer with my domestic and I don't race the car much. The Venom looks great to me and actually works. So, unlike badgts I have a good experience with JH. He has NO experience and is just yapping off, same as usual. Rumor is all he's got.

Why search? I posted my experience. That's what the thread's for isn't it?

Who worked with Dodge on Viper development? Who provided the work, research and expertise to make the Viper such a winner that it got the weight and restrictor plates added for racing??? John Hennessey was one of those guys. Sean Roe was one of those guys, Larry Macedo was one of those guys. Now that those guys are no longer doing it the Viper wins what? badgts is the guy that's always goibg on about the Z06 is faster than Vipers.

Who's uniformed? Everyone that posted an opinion on this thread that had no personal experience.

City knows many that got ripped? OK, let them tell their story. I didn't say J Hennessey was an angel, super honest, etc. I said that I trusted him enough to order, pay for and he supplied. You don't like that I didn't get ripped off??????????

i dont want to start any drama with you sir. i respect you had a good experience. and i am not doubting you in any way.
Mr. Henescrew seems to do fine at the "small" dollar amount orders. i know some very good people who were taken for over 6 figures. i didnt hear this thru the grapevine, but rather i have seen it my own eyes and hands.
the bad thing is, that John, has so much potential to do great things, yet his demons seem to get the best of him. the man is a GENIUS at marketing-bar none. i would rival him up there with Harley Davidson. but the fact remains that his bad deeds sway the scales. just talking with John, you know he has a great personality and is very well versed in his occupation. its a small world and a lot of shops, and distributors talk and its funny how we have had similar stories to share about John. its a shame, because when the man puts his mind to it, he is super.
i hope for the future that John has put that **** in the past and is going to move forward with nothing but satisfied customers

I posted MY experience with John. You haven't had any? So why are you argueing about threads, posts, theives etc. if you have no experience? I'm not argueing about if he 'got' someone or not. I don't know anyone that was 'gotten' by him. I'm not going to speculate either. Then I'd be pretending I know stuff I don't.

I'm "new" to Vipers??? Lol, I was kicking stock Viper ass ever since they came out. This is my second supercharged Viper.
