I was able to arrange a group buy for HID lights on our Vipers (9005)lights.

If you are interested let me know.

The cost of these HID lights sell for over $445.00 for the pair and ballast.

If I can get at least 5 people to commit to this, the I can get them to you for $350.00 delivered to your door. (includes shipping).

Let me know if you are SERIOUSLY interested in doing this. Please don't say you will and back out due to me having to use my credit card.

Most of you all know me on here and have met me, so my reputation will speak for myself about this being legit.

I will post some pics of the lights later.

Will some of these damage the lenses ? I may be interested. Does anybody know the type and strength of the SRT10 headlights ? They ROCK !!

They are made by MCColluch? I think I spelled the name right.

They run cooler than stock lights and don't draw current like the fake HID lights which will burst in your headlamp assembly and melt wires.

Yeah 10000 is going to be really purplish (which may look cool but isn't as easy to see stuff, and probably won't make much more light than halogen), and it won't be made by either of the 2 big German companies - Philips and Osram-Sylvania. All OEM HIDs are 4100-4300K. This is the most natural, least glare, and highest intensity. Philips and Osram-Sylvania are the most reliable, longest lasting bulbs out there.

I can see fine with the 10000K lights. You can get the
lower 8000k if you want them.
I just wanted the brightest I could get.

I'm not here to argue, but I want to get
another set for my truck and would like
to get a deal on them. If you want them
great if you don't no big deal they come
with a 1 year warranty from the manafacturer
the same as Phillips. Phillips were too
expensive for my blood and these work
identical to them.

The bulbs are not tinted either. they
are clear in color. My fog lights are on
and you can see the difference. Again, if
you want them let me know.

Yes my car has bugs on the front! Need to wash it,
but no time. :D

Nice hood to fascia clearance. Did you adjust to get it that tight?

Re: Group buy on HID 10000K lights Real HID from Germany.

Sorry ab, didn't mean to start an argument with you.. just I'm an electronic engineer and I've come across HIDs a lot in the past.

The K number actually isn't brightness.. it's temperature, which is a really weird thing to explain, and I can't :( The discharge tubes, AFAIK, actually produce a lot more light at the 4100-4300 temperatures... yup, the lower temp is actually brighter. From what I remember, the 8000K were producing about 2400 lumens, and the 4100s were making about 3800 last time I checked. Confusing? Uh huh.. that's opto for ya :(

The higher temps look bluer, and (I guess after an hour or so of driving) may induce a little eye fatigue (humans can't see blue for s#$t). The higher temps also create a lot more glare for oncoming traffic, which is why OEMs have to use 4100. You can see the glare in your last pic above.

It's all in the eye of the beholder though. Some people like the blues a lot more than the whites, and in the end, you're best off with what you like. I actually know a few people who switched back from HID to halogen.. they said having the clear boundary of really bright and really dark was off putting and made it hard to see anything really far in the distance. Personally I think they're nuts and any HID is better than halogen!!

Silver with blue eyes, damn, that looks mean :)

Adam,

That's a great price for those interested. Thanks for putting the deal together. I bought an HID kit a few months ago and paid $500. It was from HID-Online and consisted of all Philips components.

Miles made a good post regarding the difference between color tempurature and brightness. 10,000 degrees kelvin is pushing you way into the blue side of the color spectrum and is like putting sunglasses on the headlights. For anyone interested in maximum light output go with 4100-4300K. For cool effect but less light, go with the higher color tempurature.

Here's the comparison between OEM and 4100K Philips

Anyway you could throw in a set of 99+ Mustang HIDs for the same price? I'd be willing to jump in, or if there is a easy fix to change from the Viper bulb to the GT's.. i'd be game.

No I can get the other choices if you want. I just talked with the vendor.

Miles... you are not arguing with me, I like what you wrote. I think you are correct about it being blue, I see fine with it.

If anyone else wants them email me ASAP. It's a great deal and also, you can get what ever spectrum you want.

What size bulb do you take? ie...9004? 9005?

Re: Group buy on HID 10000K lights Real HID from Germany.

Just to add to the conversation here since I work with HID type lighting for industrial purposes:

The higher the color temp rating, the bluer the light.

There is no absolute way to measure color temperature at the higher numbers, so one manufacturers 10,000 degrees K bulb color may be different than another one also rated at 10,000 degrees K.

In general, the bluer the light, the less efficient the bulb will be due to the different gas mixes that must be used to achieve the color. The less efficent the bulb, the lower the light output for the same wattage.

The other factor at play here is that the human eye response is normally centered around the mid (green/yellow) area of light, so with the same measured intensity of a bluish light and a green/yellowish light, the green/yellowish light will 'look' brighter to the human eye. Under dark conditions, the human eye response curve shifts more towards the blue spectrum and perhaps that is why the bluer lights cause more glare at night.

Re: Group buy on HID 10000K lights Real HID from Germany.

dammn it! I just want a group buy so I can also get a discount! ha! ha!

Man I didn't know car lights had soo much science behind it. It's cool to know these things.

One thing I don't like is to drive at night when it rains due to the fact of the glare of any headlights.

Ken, I liked your explanation too! Very informative. AS far as heat goes on my lights, they are cooler than stock bulbs.

Waay brighter, but I haven't had a lot of night time driving in them either...but I went down the road it they seem to do well.

Keep the info coming! I love info!

Hey ab, I may have a few more orders to add, but they would be for different cars. When do I need to let you know? Can you give me a few days?

AB.. what is the install like for these? is it plug and play or do you need to cut wires etc? (what sort of time to install?)Is it a similar deal to what GCHdealer is selling? Ie: where did you mount the ballasts etc?
Thanks!
