Hi,
I just bought these HID - 80 8000k from rj dist. and can't get them to work. It looks simple enough, the light fits right into where the stock bulb was, and the stock connector plugs right into the ballast. I have tried both bulbs and ballasts with no luck. Can anyone give me a heads up as to what I might be doing wrong.
Also where have you guys mounted the ballasts that have installed these?
Thanks
Gary

Mine didn't come with the "igniter". maybe it's built into the ballast? I called the place I got it from (RJ Dist) and he told me to reverse the wires going to the bulb. I cut and soldered the red to black and black to red- still doesn't work. I will have to call him again tomorrow.
Thanks!

Syn,
you ought to just return the ones you bought. And order a new kit from Vince , www.gohid.com . Mine works great, and theres no issues whatsoever.

You need igniter to use a HID ballast. Without it, it will not work.

FYI, I mounted my ballast boxes inside the headlamp housing. Fit perfectly velcro'd to the back inside cover behind the high beam lamp. Nice that way, it's all self-contained.

Just for the record if anyone else buys these they work great but you have to do some easy alterations.
The wires coming from the connector that went to the old light now go to the ballast. They have to be reversed. The clip comes apart and you reverse the red and black wires and fit the connector back together..
The igniter is built into the ballast.

I hope they change the kit so it's more plug and play and not "modify-plug then play..."
