Hey guys,

I am doing more research. I have Sean Roe hi-flow cats 3" for my car, and I should be between 650 and 700 "Crank HP". I noticed someone was recommending that 650 was the limit with cats.
I also spoke with someone the other day who was going to use resonators in place of cats. Has anyone done this?
Also has anyone had cats collapse??
In the G35 and 350Z, Random has had a few failures I personally know of. Is metal substrate the best way to go?
If you are familiar with using resonators please tell me which ones you used.

Thanks again,
Alan

Enjoying my Viper :headbang:

If you remove the cats and want a very good replacement to keep the sound/drone away, do the Moroso spiral flow muffler. Cheap and a good fit/size. I run these and have recommended them to other Viper guys that are very pleased.

Hey Tony,
Are they good for horsepower? I think this is a better idea than hi flow cats.
Just ordered them.
Thanks,
Alan

9.55 @ 144, 790 rwhp and 950 rwtq with a stock 43,000 mile motor plus rockers. Plus the part I like....it is as quiet as it was with the stock cats (cut in half) The mufflers I have behind the spiral flows are the Dynomax can type. No drone, no UPS truck sound here !!

Thank you Tony for your suggestion of the Spiral Flow mufflers. I replaced my cats with these and and the car sounds great. I would say about 20% quieter than the Random Tech cats and almost elimitated the decell popping. Now I can have my sills painted. The sill temps went from 340 down to 170.
