I have a Gen III copperhead hood that blew off the car. It is cracked, the hood pad with tthe Viper Emblem is cracked. Is there ANY reason to save this hood? The intake, the pad clips etc. Let me know was going to trash it but someone may be able to use the scoops etc. Don't know.

I was saving as Garage Art. After stuffing 6 cats in my 3 car garage, it became clear that it really isn't good - it can hardly be seen and no need to mount it on the ceilings, that just reduces the height I can raise the cars. Thanks !

Pure Stupidity on my part. I use Battery Tenders, so the wires don't get smashed, I prop the hood up with a hood block. Took the Battery tender off over the weekend a while back. Did not put it back on, dropped the hood back down onto the hood prop. Decided mid week to take the car out for a ride, forgot I had not secured the hood. We did great around town, did not notice the hood raised at all from the drivers seat. When I hit the country roads and hit 55 to 60 MPH, the hood flew up and back. Scary as heck. Took out the hood and the windshield. I now have a check list I go through before I get one of my cars out for a drive.
