Hello All,
I have a venom red vert stuck in I status for 4 weeks now. Is this usual, am I being too impatient or is it waiting on something else (eg. a part)?
Thanks

UNSCHEDULED
  • BB - fleet order only - review by bid department
  • BD - special equipment processing
  • BE - edit error - coding error which must be corrected before order can be considered for scheduling
  • BG - order has passed edit, but cannot be scheduled regardless of priority or sold status
    • F - Financial hold
    • B - model or option
    • B - build out
    • L - material restriction
    • M - material hold (fleet)
    • BX - good order available for scheduling
SCHEDULED
  • C - tentative schedule
  • D - firm schedule: serial number is assigned, appropriate time in station (5) working days
  • D1 - gateline: plant has sequenced the unit for production, estimated ship date assigned, approximate time in station is (12) working days
BUILD
  • E - framing
  • F - paint
  • G - trim
BUILT
  • I - unit is built pending final inspection
  • J - vehicle has passed final inspection: but not released to carrier unit requiring vendor work (sunroof, special package, etc.)
  • JB - shipped to body vendor
  • JE - shipped to emissions
  • JS - shipped to storage
  • KZ - released by plant and invoiced
I = Built pending final inspection. seems unusual to me unless they are holding it to fix something found in inspection. if you ordered stripes it might be waiting to go to JB status because Prefix was behind. Maybe Bill Pemberton can chime in.

Nothing unusual about that , and if it is waiting for stripes , that alone may explain it. We have quite a few stuck , as you phrased it, in I for that long or longer.

It will be worth the wait and just have your Dealer contact you the minute it goes to J and you will find all is right with the World!!:2tu:

Thanks Bill.
Just getting more impatient the closer we get to closure.

I status for 4 weeks, no stripes, just doesn't seem fair to the consumer

Luna C...I am in the exact same situation as you. A VR Coupe, no stripes, in "I" status for 5 weeks and counting. I checked with my dealer just yesterday on the status.

I am very concerned that Prefix will be holding the ACR's up for a very long time. They seem to be the real major delay of most cars. Not sure why Dodge does not find a company with better production times.

Not the case for Luna C, nor mjf6175----no stripes. Prefix has a contract with Dodge to stripe x number of Vipers per day. I was told they could have geared up to stripe more, but Dodge makes the rules. The major delay for many cars has been parts suppliers, not Prefix. Delays with the 2 tone interiors and optional bezels were a problem with the early cars. Many coupes were delayed by the rear hatch, and many convertibles were produced more quickly because the coupes could not be built.

SO u're saying that a car can go into I status even tho it does not have all the parts(bezels, plastic inerior panels) installed yet?

One common sense situation may be the main cause, and that is that there were quite a few delayed for supplier issues, and they have been waiting longer than the cars you folks listed. They may be finishing up those, prior to going back and sending yours on the way.

The end result , over the years, is that the longest letter phase a Viper would stay in has always been I ( once the build began ). It used to drive me crazy as a standard production vehicle would stay in I for one day, whereas I can remember Vipers in that status for months. The best answer is that nothing is unusual at this point, but we all share your frustration.

So I don't Know if it is coincidence or not, but I called Chrysler customer care's 800 # on Friday and talked to a delightful young lady in Nashville. She created a file for me ( agreeing that 31 days in "I" was too long), called the dealer and Voila! The car is in KZ status as of Monday. Maybe it does pay to rattle the cage occaisionally. :2tu:
Now let's hope there is a truck headed to Atlanta soon. :D
