Ideas for group functions at VOI?

Hey everyone,

I just had an idea for a way we may be better able to link up with people of similar interest for VOI. I dont know what everyone else is planning, but I surely will have extra time, before, during and after the event. Perhaps get a list of people going who are interested in such things as;

Clubbing (music types)
Gambling (casino preference)
Certain Shows
Other Activities?

I think Matt (Moparman) with the Nevada Chapter is planning a few things. The Bar-B-Q at Sheri's ranch is a must.

I had planned on doing a few things while I was there, including:

-Red Square (Vodka tasting)

-ICE (Clubbing)

-Gambling a little... I dont intend on leaving with a rolling chassis after I sell the engine to pay gambling debt...lol

A few of the guys here want to see Blue Man Group, that should be cool.

What is Red Square?

I figure I will explain my choices a little more in light of the above:

Red Square is a place where you can taste damn near any Vodka you want. When you enter, they give you a mink coat and hat, and you actually go into the freezer at -10 degrees to try the Vodka's.

ICE is an EDM (Electronic Dance Music, Trance, House, Techno, etc) club right off the strip. If you know who DJ Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, and Armin Van Buuren are, this is the club for you. Definitely going to be for the younger 21-30 crowd generally. I dont know how well it is going to stack up to my local Superclub, The Guvernment in Toronto Canada, But I'll try it nevertheless!

Blue Man Group is quite a show. It is a group of guys who are blue (duh) and can make damn near anything into an instrument. The group has a sound more towards Electronica.

Gambling...well...self explanatory.

Also, you can't wrong with any of the Cirque shows here in town. I would say that Mystere and O are the two best. If you're planning on going start booking your seats now as the good seats for these shows sell out many months in advance.

Both O and Mystere are Cirque Du Soleil shows. They also have a show at the Wynn and the MGM.

Here's a few things most people don't know of in the Vegas area.

- Ocean Spray juice factory tour
- Ethel M chocolate factory tour
- Marshmallow factory tour (don't recall the brand)

All three are quite interesting. Took them a few years ago with a friend that lives in Vegas.

I go to Vegas once a month and I found the use of www.vegas.com and click on shows for the dates you want is great. Jay Leno is playing then. Also, if you want the BEST brewery, $1.00 pints 24 hours/day, go to Ellis Island Casino and Brewery just 2 blocks west of the strip. This place is mostly known to locals (thank goodness) but the beer is awesome along with a HUGE baby back rib dinner served Mon.-Fri. 4PM til 8PM, thats cooked outside on a huge coal grill for only $12.00!!! There are slots and video games at the bar plus a couple of tables. The place is VERY laid back. See you there, Mark. P.S. For the adult fun go to Industrial Blvd. just East of the strip. See you there too!!

It's quite alot like Jag's. When we got there (7PM or so) the B-list talent was on the floor, but by the time we left the "big guns" were definitely on hand.
