... If traveling at a high rate of speed and the window shatters, does it blow outward or inward? George

I was traveling at decent rate of speed, the window shatttered( sounding like a shotgun) and blew out landing in the freeway.


If you understand how an airplane gets off the ground then it makes sense it would blow out.

The top side of the wing is bulbous and rounded up front creating more surface area as compared to the bottom which is flat (the shortest distance between 2 points). The air must travel "faster" across the top side in order to meet up with itself at the end of the wing at the same time. So the the top side has a result of "less air pressure" as compared to the bottom... magically the difference in pressure lifts the plane in the direction of least resistance.

Apply that to faster air rushing outside the car window... it should blow out.
