Okay gang,
I stayed up til 2am last night taking apart my custom dual spal fan shroud. I fabercated a different bracket that allowed air to pass through. I got to test it out today and it did make a difference with more air flow. Burping the system also helped out.
During hwy driving at about 80-85 degree weather the car ran about 190. In stop and go traffice it rane about 190-195. When I drove it with a little more rpms for an extended amount of time (2300 rpms) it did get a little more warmer. right about 200 mark. If I came to a stand still, I got over a tad bit of 200 but it didn't stay there too long.
This is my specs:
two 12 " spal fans on all the time at 1750 cfm per fan.
40% antifreeze (preston green stuff) and 60% water with water wetter.
185 degree thermostat with four 1/4" holes on the side to help keep the flow going.
So all in all the Rondavis radiator has kept my car cooler, but the radiator keeps the most cool when moving on the hwy. In traffic, it slowy climbs but stables out about 195-200 degrees.
I still don't think I will use the oil cooler lines just due to the fact I don't want to push the heat in the radiator at this point. I would suggest if you buy the Ron Davis Radiator, don't buy the one with the oil cooler built in, it's seems to be an over kill...I think the better thing to do would be upgrade the oil cooler with a better cooler.
I like the Ron Davis product, but still don't know if the price tag was worth it compared to what is out there. As long as it works, then that is what counts.
