Grand Prix New York :drive:

Mount Kisco, New York 10549

This is a brand new 120,000 SF indoor facility featuring Sodi 6.5 HP 40 MPH Karts. We will have the track to ourselves.

Website: gpny.com

Grand Prix New York Racing (GPNY) is set to wave the green flag at the only indoor karting circuit in the New York metropolitan area. New Yorkers finally have a good excuse to postpone the rat race for some real on-track action.

However, GPNY is touting itself as much more than the typical bare-bones karting facility, the type that is usually stocked with musty helmets, wheezing karts and a perpetually out-of-order soda machine. GPNY's 120,000-square-foot "racing, entertainment and corporate conferencing" facility is targeting New York-based companies looking for innovative team-building exercises in a business-friendly environment.

The circuit itself is comprised of two 24-foot-wide, one quarter-mile-long kart tracks. For special occasions, the tracks can be combined into a single half-mile course. Six feet of elevation changes and a wide variety of fast and slow corners (many of which are named after world famous corners like Spa's Eau Rouge and Monza's Parabolica) should guarantee that a hot lap is much more exciting than your last boardroom meeting. GPNY uses Sodi RX7 gas-powered karts, powered by 6.5-horsepower Honda GX 200 four-stroke motors. Top speed is 40 miles per hour, and each kart boasts a real-time onboard timing system. A wraparound bumper is there for anyone who subscribes to the Days of Thunder ethos that "rubbing is racing."

Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Arrival/Registration: 10:00AM (if you're late you may miss track time)
All equipment is available at the facility, but if you've got a helmet, bring it along with long pants and a long sleeve shirt.

The price is $75 for VCA members and $95 for friends and family. The is a 30 person limit, so please RSVP early to hold a spot. Hey NJ and NE....COME ON OVER/DOWN!

Meeting:

LI - TBD
NYC - York Avenue & 90th Street (9:00 AM)
Westchester - TBD

Directions:

RTE 684 to exit No. 4
West on Rte 172 - South Bedford Road

Arg, they only let you drive if you are 18 or over and have a drivers license. Well looks like its time to get creative, lol.

Thanks, really had a great time, but we also REALLY need more members to show up next event. We had at least three guys who were non-Viper Club members. I want to do it again, but don't know if we can afford it with so little turn out. Can we do it Steve ?

Looks like Chuck blew away the competition. I think those deviled eggs are part of a strategy to fatten everybody else. :lmao:
