I can only believe half the stuff AutoWeek prints, but this was in the Oct 22nd magazine. Page 43, lower right corner, under Late racing news.
Lighter, faster!
"There will be a further evolution of the Dodge Viper for next season. The French ORECA team, which masterminded the Viper program for Chrysler, is building an updated version of its all-conquering GTS-R. Technical rules for the FIA GT Championship, which the Viper won for a fourth time in 2001, allow an evolution of the design every three years. ORECA aims to exploit this for next year when it will build a handful of new cars and offer kits to upgrade exsiting GTS-R's. The team is looking to reduce weight and increase cooling in next years cars. ORECA's boss Hugues Chaunac said, "The rules allow us to make small improvements. We want to ensure the car remains competitive."

I wonder if this means we will have not only the Comp Coupe but also the official GTS-R to root for next year. Good catch on that one Tom. Did you enjoy yourself this past weekend?

It was a blast! Wish the weather was a little more accomodating on friday, but the entire day was really a great experience. Met some great people. Thanks to you, Steve and Bill for all the work you guys put in to make this event happen. See you at the November meeting.
