Hi folks, Just curious, does anybody in Reno actually drive their Vipers? I'm out in mine all the time during the season. Just short local runs, but I've only seen 2 in all the years I've been doing that. I've seen Ferraris, Lambos even a McLaren. They're not bashful. H.A.N. is canceled this year. Be nice to have 4-5 Vipers gathered at a Starbux some morning. I go up to the Mt Rose hwy store almost every Sunday morning. Perfect venue.
I've had mine over two years and drive it a couple times a week and have never seen another Viper. Mike from Pa.
Well keep driving it. I couldn't have one of these and not drive it. I guess maybe some people are trying to keep the miles off hoping to make some $$$ someday. Who knows. I don't have that kind of time so I drive, but I do like to keep it pristine. These things are fabulous on mtn roads. Nothing but fun. Happy Trails.
Did you ever see a Black w/Red stripe GTS around? That was me. I kept my car in a friend's airplane hanger in Carson City from 2001 to 2019 and drove it when I'd visit for 2-3 weeks usually during the time of the Reno Air Races. In 2019 I finally drove my car home to Jeannette, PA near Pittsburgh. Did it via Star Wars Canyon. Planned to do airbnb on way back but was such a waste of time I decided to sleep in car(!) (If not for LUV truck stop showers, I'd probably have decomposed to a puddle of protoplasm.) Driving I15 from Las Vegas through the Arizona cut was surreal and then there was I70 through Utah. OMG literally otherwordly! The eastbound Black Dragon Canyon "bow shot" was insane - surveyor who laid out I70 in Utah should have gotten an award - it's like an amusement park ride or world's fair diarama. (Want to go back and spend at least a month out there an commune with the Mountain Spirits - especially off the beaten path, late at night under a full moon...)
Glad to hear some details about your trip, Tom...quite an adventure!! Even some of us Midwesterners remember that car...back to 2000. It has its own great stories. Stay well and drive on !!
Hey Tom, That's quite a pile of road trip credentials. At that time I was driving my 2000 RT around Carson. Too bad we never crossed paths. Now I'm in my 2002 RT and lovin' every minute. My post has hooked me up with another Viper guy in Reno so it worked out and he discovered a 2017 ACR around the corner from him! Happy Trails, SS
