My OEM radiator hose on the right side from the radiator to the engine (the big one) has what appears to be a galvanised reinforcing spring which shows some signs of corrosion. Is this spring important? as I would prefer to leave it out. I wonder if there is potential for electrolysis between that and alloy metal of the block?

Thanks in advance

I recommend getting the silicone hose with the bleeder valve built in. Roe, Archer, etc. sell them.

To answer your question, you can probably leave the spring out.
