Rockers

Hi,
I want to put 1.7 rockers on my 99 acr. I have looked at the Harland Sharps, and the T&D'S. I would like to know if the Mopar rockers are the same as the T&D'S as I have seen a set of these for sale. They are supposedly shaft mounted which I believe is a stronger setup - please correct me if I am wrong. Also, I would like to know if the shaft mounted rockers are a harder install. I would like to do the job with my son and the Harland's seem pretty straightfoward- don't know about the Mopar, or T&D'S. Another question I have, is do they all require new high strength pushrods? I see them advertised for $130.

Mopar and T&D's are the same. The only difference is the color of the rockers. You are correct in that they are shaft mounted. You should change your pushrods.

If you do a search you will find that this subject has been covered many times before.

Depending on who you talk to, some recommend the rocker stand mounting surface on the heads be machined down in order to the rockers to have the correct geometry. The kits comes with an alignment tool to ensure you have the proper geometry.

Bottom line...........anyone of the ones you mentioned are better than stock. Many will tell you that the shaft mounted are better, I don't disagree. But like I said before ALL are better than the stockers.

What shaft mounted rockers are at specs. that don't require

There are many many cars running the T&D's without any machining. Mine installed with perfect geometry just by shimming. The key is starting with the correct length push rod, then shimming to get the correct geometry. You would just be lucky if your oem push rods worked. The moly push rods are one piece and far more rigid then the oem's.
