So, I've been reading that the screws holding the front latch to the hardtop loosen and sometimes fall out. The question I had is do the screws screw into a metal frame or is it fiberglass...impacts how tight you can make the screws? That said, should I used Locktight on the screws to make sure they don't get loose and if so, which one?

For the record, I purchased a top and am waiting for it to arrive.

Thanks!:2tu:

Hey Peter,

The screws on the windshield frame should have loc-tite on them. The screws on the top may not have any? Take the three screws out on each front latch and put a little loc-tite [red] on them and do not make them too tight, just snug. Also while you have the latches off the top make sure the center bolt of the latch assemble is tight too.

Thanks Chuck, top should be arriving next week and want to make sure I get it "road ready" before driving. I read some of the posts where their top/latch got loose while they were driving.:drive:

See you soon, have to bring in for service.
